PAPER CONTESTS
Relatir.e to the conduct of the 2024 National Schools Press Conference on July 8-
1,2, 2024, this Of{ice, through the Bureau of Curriculum Development, announces
the submission of the regional winners/entries for the School Paper Contests on or
before May 31,2024 ,
The offrcia-i list of entries duly sig:ned by the Regional Director along with the
requirements shall be sent via email at nspctitdeped.gov.ph while the regional entries
in portable document format (PDF) duly endorsed by the Regiona-l Director shall be
uploaded to the link to be provided to the regional journalism
coordinators / education program supervisors in-charge ofjournalism. Kindly refer to
Annex A for the template of the List of Regional School Paper Entries and Annex B
for the General Guidelines for School Paper Contests.

B. The top frve highest pointers both in English and Filipino will be declared as
the best school papers; however, the points of their ranking shall not be added
to determine the best performing regions who wifl be recognized in the
awarding ceremony at the last day of conduct of the NSPC.
C. Any school paper found to have copied and used texts, images, or other
materials without duly acknowledging their sources, the following sanctions
will be applied:
First Offense: Disqualifrcation from the contest.
Second Olfense: A formal notification will be sent to the Regional Director,
who will then inform tJle concemed Schools Division Superintendent (SDS).
The SDS will issue a written reprimald to the school paper adviser/ s and the
school principal. Ttre concerned school paper adviser will undergo a refresher
course on Plrgiadsm orgeniz.ed by the Division. Accordingly, the School Head
shall implement plans and programs on intensifying academic honesgr ald
integrity.
Third Offense: Disqualification from the School Paper Contest for three
consecutive years.
D. The decision of the Board of Judges in all aspects of the contest is final and
irrevocable.
E. For the 2024 NSPC, each Regional Office must upload the 10 best entries per
category (in PDF) to the link to be provided to tlre regional journalism
coordinators/education program supervisors in-charge of journalism. ONLY
the Regional OIIlce is authorized to submit the school paper entries.
The following, properly foldered and labeled (e.g., R7-News-Eng-E1em), must
be submitted via email at nspc(@deped.sov.ph:
1 . Certilicate of Circulation signed by the Regional Director
2. Certificate of Endorsement signed by tlle Regional Director, confirming
all the required documents were submitted to, checked, and reviewed
by the Regional OIfice prior to submitting to the Central Oflice
3. Report of the process observed in ensuring plagiaized-free articles
