01-03 Service Mapping
01-03 Service Mapping
3 Service Mapping
The OTN service mapping consists of two stages: service signals mapped into
ODUk signals; ODUk signals multiplexed and encapsulated into OTUk signals.

NOTE
a: The number of timeslots is a rounded-up integer of the rate of the service type divided by the
bandwidth of each timeslot (1.25 Gbit/s). If the result is not an integer, add 1 to the exact
division result. For example, when FC800 services are accessed, the number of timeslots is 7 (6 +
1), because (8.5 Gbit/s)/(1.25 Gbit/s) = 6.8.
the WDM side of the OTN network. This topic describes the ODUk-to-OTUk
mapping and multiplexing paths supported by the equipment.
Huawei OptiXtrans DC908 maps client-side signals into ODU0/ODU2/ODU2e/
ODUflex/ODU3/ODU4 signals, which are further multiplexed and mapped into
OTU4/OTUC2/OTUC3/OTUC4/OTUC6/OTUC8 signals for transmission over fibers.
Figure 3-2 shows the OTN mapping and multiplexing structure supported by
Huawei OptiXtrans DC908.
NOTE
The ODUk rates are approximately 1,244,160 kbit/s(ODU0), 2,498,775.126 kbit/s (ODU1),
10,037,273.924 kbit/s (ODU2), 40,319,218.983 kbit/s (ODU3), 10,399,525.316 kbit/s
(ODU2e), and 104,794,445.815 kbit/s (ODU4).
The ODUCn rate is approximately n x 105,725,952.000 kbit/s.
NOTE
The OTUk rates are approximately 2,666,057.143 kbit/s (OTU1), 10,709,225.316 kbit/s
(OTU2), 43,018,413.559 kbit/s (OTU3), and 111,809,973.568 kbit/s (OTU4).
The OTUCn rate is approximately n x 105,725,952.000 kbit/s.
