Technical Brochure 95 - Huawei High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus N1 Business Model Datasheet
Overview
Traditional networks are inadequate or unsustainable for enterprises' digital transformation initiatives. Today, the focus of
campus networks has shifted from connectivity and policies to user experience. In addition, campus networks are taking on
new characteristics, such as simplified network management and O&M, fast service provisioning, and guaranteed service
experience. To deliver these features, new software functions need to be added to campus networks, including intelligent
terminal access, automated management, AI-powered O&M, and experience assurance. The drawback, however, is that it
increases network investments.
Huawei High-Quality 10 Gbps CloudCampus N1 is a software procurement business model that is decoupled from
hardware. Enterprises can flexibly select software packages based on their service scenario and deployment scale. These
software packages are not bound to hardware and are not limited by hardware lifecycle. Rather, software packages can be
continuously upgraded, protecting enterprises' investments in campus network software and granting enterprises access to
the latest software capabilities at the earliest possible time. With these advantages, Huawei CloudCampus N1 helps
enterprises build a campus network centered on service experience.
When hardware devices are upgraded, the N1 software packages can be migrated to the new hardware devices. This
saves enterprises from having to purchase software packages again, protecting their investments.
⚫ Software packages support continuous evolution and can be upgraded along with new versions
New functions of N1 software packages will be made available along with release of new software versions. To
upgrade software packages and use the new functions in campus network solutions, customers can purchase the
Subscription and Support (SNS) services (annual software fees).
⚫ Basic software: provides non-standalone software for network devices, excluding the controller and analyzer software.
Currently, basic software is available only for switches.
⚫ Foundation package: provides basic network management and access management functions. It is applicable when
customers require automated deployment for their physical networks and access authentication.
⚫ Advanced package: provides the automated virtual network deployment, free mobility, endpoint plug-and-play,
intelligent O&M functions, and intelligent radio calibration functions on top of the Foundation package functions. This
package is ideal for customers who require comprehensive cloud campus network automation and intelligent O&M
functions.
⚫ Upgrade package: upgrades the Foundation package to the Advanced package. This package is applicable when
customers have purchased the Foundation package but need comprehensive cloud campus network automation and
intelligent O&M functions.
⚫ Add-On package: Four Add-On packages are provided to expand the access management capacity, increase the
number of licenses for endpoint plug-and-play, provide the iMaster NCE-CampusInsight application analysis function,
and offer the iMaster NCE-CampusInsight wireless positioning function, respectively.
The functions of the software packages vary according to products. For details, see the following table.

Access management function: Switches vary with the access management quota per Foundation package. To be specific,
one Foundation package includes a quota of 100 endpoints for a modular switch, a quota of 50 endpoints for an xxxx–H
fixed switch, or a quota of 30 endpoints for other switches. One Add-On package supports a quota of 30 endpoints.

N1 defines software packages by product category. That is, all device models of the same category share the same N1
software package. And the N1 software package can be migrated between devices of the same category.
For example, the N1 Foundation package for the 802.11ax AP category can be used for AP7060DN, and also be migrated to
AirEngine 6760-X1 or any new Wi-Fi 6 AP of the same category, as long as the SnS is not expired.

AR6700V AR6700V
Software portability: Software and the associated license entitlement can be transferred from one hardware product to
another of the same category or its designated successor (if any) within the same product family.
⚫ Remote troubleshooting
Huawei engineers analyze and rectify faults remotely, after receiving Customer Service Requests (CSRs) about
software faults. Remote troubleshooting includes telephone support and remote access.
➢ Telephone support: After receiving a CSR, Huawei engineers help analyze, diagnose, and locate the fault through
telephone. They then propose a rectification solution and help to rectify the fault according to the specified
service level within the specified response duration.
➢ Remote access: If telephone support cannot rectify a fault or problem, Huawei engineers remotely log in to the
faulty equipment to investigate the problem and collect data after obtaining customer consent. The engineers
then propose a rectification solution and help implement it. If necessary, the engineers operate the equipment
remotely.
Huawei provides software version update and upgrade download licenses, including software patches, software
updates, software maintenance versions, software new features, and software upgrade versions. These ensure that
your purchased application software works optimally, adapts to more application scenarios and higher service
requirements, and continuously brings benefits.
You can obtain software updates and upgrades from Huawei's technical support website. Huawei provides remote
guidance and assistance for version installation. If you require Huawei to update or upgrade a version, purchase the
corresponding service product.
⚫ Online self-service
Huawei provides a comprehensive suite of product documentation on its website. This includes product manuals,
configuration guides, networking cases, and maintenance experiences. After you obtain website access permissions,
you can download documents, obtain information about maintenance, and learn about the latest products.
