1. REVIEW (5 mins) Question and Answer:
1. Which among the fruits/vegetables can be used as cleaning
materials or agents? (calamansi, lemons, papaya, tomatoes,
potatoes)
2. What are their uses?
ANSWER:
Calamansi - bleach, removes stain and odor
Lemon - Antiseptic, natural bleach, removes odor
Papaya - stain remover
Tomatoes - clean metal
Potato - removes rust

With your cleaning products available at hand, read the product information on the packaging. Fill out what is ask on the
table below using the product information. During the activity, observe the products with caution, particularly in
smelling and touching as they may have harmful effects upon contact. Write your answer on a separate sheet.

2. Prepare the materials needed.
3. Mix 1 cup of distilled water,1 cup of vinegar and 1 lemon in an empty cup/ container
4. Transfer the solution in a spray container.

“Healthy Options”
(Do It Yourself Natural Cleaning Products)
Divide the class in groups of 3-4 members and have them explore homemade alternative
products for their household cleaning use to prevent COVID-19 virus.
Have them research to create/replicate the alternative product. Each group will have to
demonstrate the process to the class, describe the creation, use, mode of action and
disposal of the homemade product.
The demonstration can span 5-6 minutes, including a short question and answer portion.
