The Objective of the activity is to highlight the

Discussion

In accordance with DepEd Memorandum No.001


s.2024, beginning today, the Maricum Elementary School
joined the Catch-up Fridays (Drop Everything and Read),
such as synchronically read stories as their choice. In
Key Stage 1 learners. We used small and big books, and
audiovisual materials. The activity properly started with
the series of reading sessions starting from the Kinder up
to the grade VI learners. The kinder teacher in
charge used the Big Books during the reading sessions
to allow the students to appreciate more the creative
designs of the stories. The various teachers in charge
also made use of colorful and creative charts to facilitate
effective reading interactions with the learners.

In line with the DEAR Program, the Grades 1 to 6


teaching staff of Maricum Elementary School
implemented this activity. The teachers provided reading
materials for the learners with an allotted time of half day
as mandated in the memorandum. This is to enhance
learners' knowledge and skills and in appreciation of
reading. The activity was conducted successfully.

Photo offs were made to document the aforesaid


notable activity as a means of verification to the
successful conduct of the said endeavor.
The activity was headed by the proactive and
dedicated School Head, Mr. Erwin R. Nomio which was
successfully done through the cooperation of the
Teachers of Maricum Elementary School, Pastrana Leyte.

The materials needed in the activity were as follows.
