■ Aim and Objective

→Smart parking is an IoT (Internet of Things) solution that uses sensors and/or
cameras in combination with a software to inform users of vacant parking spaces in
a certain area.
→By using ultrasonic sensors be able to keep a record of the number of cars
parked inside of a parking garage. Consequently, once a car enters a parking
garage followed by a parking space, a ping ultrasonic sensor will then be able
to determine if a car is parked in the space or not.

→In public places where there are many visitors, a lot of time is wasted for
searching parking slots. Also, a lot of manual labour is required to look after the
existing parking arrangement. Moreover, there is no way of knowing whether a
vacant parking space is available or not.

→You need to invest in high-quality automated parking equipment, such

as ticket dispensers, payment systems, and barriers. You should also
choose the right technology for your system, such as cameras, sensors,
and software.
→This ever growing traffic congestion and uncertainty in the parking
availability and payment have thus enforced the need for a Smart
Parking systems. A Smart parking technology that will help optimize
parking space usage, improve the efficiency of the parking operations
and help smoother traffic flow.

→Parking data is read by Sonar sensors, IR sensors & Arduino. IR

sensor is effective for indoor parking lot & sonar sensor can be used for
indoor and outdoor application. After reading and processing the data
Arduino sends number of engaged and free slot of the parking lot to
Raspberry Pi using serial port.

→The three main parking configurations are parallel, perpendicular (90

degree), or at an angle to the aisle (30, 45, or 60 degree). Parallel
parking works well in narrow, linear spots, which are also space-efficient.
→Smart Parking solutions are designed to provide drivers an ultimate
solution on their journey from the beginning to end without searching for
parking, cost, travel time etc. This advantage comes by paying marginal
fees to the smart parking service providers.
→The aim of implementing Parking Management System is to reduce
time and increase efficiency of the current Parking Management System.
In overpopulated cosmopolitan zones, parking strategies must be
wellimplemented for management of vehicles.

→This system uses networked wireless sensors to monitor the cars in

the parking area. For the unique identification of cars, every car must
have an RFID tag which would be embedded in it.

→IoT-based smart parking system deployment requires integrating

various devices, sensors, and microcontrollers. For example, it can be a
beacon microcontroller transmitting data to the cloud environment or a
Bluetooth.
→As a conclusion, this project will help in reducing the amount of time
a driver has to spend around the parking just to find an available spot,
reducing the amount of traffic around the parking and also reducing the
bad parking around the parking space.

→Here are some of the key benefits: Time-Efficiency: Smart parking

systems provide real-time information about parking availability, thus
reducing the time spent looking for parking spaces. This can help
reduce traffic congestion and improve the overall traffic flow in the car
park.
→IoT-based smart parking system deployment requires integrating
various devices, sensors, and microcontrollers. For example, it can be a
microcontroller transmitting data to the cloud environment or a Bluetooth
beacon. With its help, consumers can control parking locally.
