Background and History

Affordafoods is a new food business that aims to offer affordable street food
options to students, inspired by their own experiences. The menu includes popular and
culturally diverse street food items, such as Kwek-kwek, Hotcake, Sweetcorn, Adobo
Flakes, Fries, Halo-halo, and Palamig. The business also focuses on community
engagement, actively involving students in menu selection to gather feedback and
preferences. Affordafoods aims to create a sense of ownership and inclusivity by
providing nutritious and satisfying meals that meet budget constraints and contribute to
students' overall well-being. The business also emphasizes local and eco-friendly
sourcing practices, making a positive impact on both the community and the
environment.

Description of Products

Affordafoods focuses on curating a menu of popular and culturally diverse street

food items that are not only delicious but also budget-friendly such as Palamig
beverage, made to satisfy thirst. Inspired by the Philippines' vibrant street food scene,
Palamig evokes a sense of tropical delight with each sip. Made with a twist that is made
of Fruit Salad, prepared to tickle the taste buds and inspire memories of bustling
marketplaces and sunny beaches. It's served ice-cold and full of natural fruity goodness.

Sweetcorn a creative meal that combines corn's natural sweetness with the rich
flavors of cheese powder and butter. Each kernel is carefully selected for ripeness and
then meticulously boiled to enhance its taste. Every bite is generously topped with
cheese powder and drizzled with melted butter, providing a wonderful blast of taste and
texture. The end product is a sensory experience that tantalizes the taste buds and
delights the senses, making it a distinctive addition to the culinary scene.

Adobo Flakes which celebrate the eternal spirit of Filipino cuisine. Chicken breast
slices were delicately infused with a combination of soy sauce, vinegar, pepper, onion,
and garlic, resulting in a flavorful fusion. Slow-cooked to perfection, the delicious flesh
was carefully shredded into delicate flakes, enhancing the richness of the flavor.
Halo-halo traditionally emphasizes sweet and refreshing flavors, the addition of
spiciness adds a unique and exciting dimension to the culinary experience.

The Kwek-Kwek pays homage to the rich history and varied flavors of Filipino
food, delivering a flavor that tantalizes the senses with every succulent bite. It comes
with a spicy vinegar dipping sauce.

Fries that has cheese and salt flavor which offers a nostalgic and satisfying
indulgence, capturing the essence of classic comfort while delivering a burst of
deliciousness in every bite.

Market Description

Affordafoods market falls into five distinct categories: Street Food, dessert,
beverage, main dish, and side dish.

Street Food: Kwek-kwek, being a popular street food, falls under the category of
convenient snacks commonly enjoyed outdoors. It is often found in street markets and
stalls. Additionally, sweetcorn, typically sold as a street food snack, falls under the
snack category. It is a convenient and popular on-the-go option enjoyed by people while
strolling or commuting (Bruce Kraig, 2024) 1.

Dessert: Hotcakes are primarily a breakfast item but can also be enjoyed as a
dessert. They belong to the baked goods and breakfast categories, providing a versatile
option for various occasions (Stella et al. 2019) 2. Halo-halo is a sweet, cold dessert
enjoyed particularly during warm weather (Ronica Valdeavilla, 2018) 3.

Beverage: Palamig, being a cold and refreshing beverage, belongs to the

beverage category. It is often enjoyed as a thirst-quenching option in the Philippines,
especially in hot weather. (Aquino, 2017) 4.

Main Dish: Adobo flakes, as a protein-based dish, fall under the main dish
category. They are often a featured item in meals, commonly served with rice. (Esther
Dela Cruz, 2017) 5.
Side Dish: Fries, as a side dish or snack, belong to the appetizer or snack
category. They are versatile and can accompany a variety of main courses or stand
alone as a satisfying snack. (Carey, 2021) 6.

Competition

The strengths are the inclusion of popular Filipino street food items like Kwek-
kwek, Hotcake, Sweetcorn, Adobo Flakes, Fries, Halo-halo, and Palamig, which cater
specifically to the local taste preferences, potentially increasing customer appeal.
Offering a budget-friendly menu makes Affordafoods an attractive option for students
with limited spending capacity. Street food items are generally quick to prepare,
ensuring that students can grab a snack without missing too much of their valuable
break time.

The weaknesses are that depending on the school's schedule, Affordafoods may
face constraints in terms of operating hours, limiting potential sales. Inclement weather
could impact the number of customers, especially if the food stall is located in an open
or outdoor area. Affordafoods may face competition, necessitating unique selling points
to stand out.

Marketing Strategies

Affordafoods aims to revolutionize the street food scene with a dynamic

marketing strategy that enhances customer engagement and satisfaction. To foster
loyalty, Affordafoods will introduce a comprehensive loyalty card program, allowing
customers to earn points with each purchase, eventually redeeming them for free foods
or discounts. The loyalty card not only incentivizes repeat business but also establishes
a deeper connection between the brand and its customers. Moreover, Affordafoods will
roll out a "Monday Madness" promotion, offering a 5% discount to the first five
customers each Monday. This time-limited incentive creates a sense of urgency, driving
foot traffic at the beginning of the week and generating buzz around the brand.

To add a playful twist and encourage variety in orders, Affordafoods will launch a
Mix & Match promo, allowing customers to create their own combo meals by selecting
two items from the menu at a discounted price. This strategy not only appeals to cost-
conscious consumers but also showcases the diverse and delicious offerings on
Affordafoods' menu. The Mix & Match promo is designed to attract a wider customer
base by catering to different tastes and preferences, ultimately enhancing the overall
dining experience and solidifying Affordafoods as the go-to destination for affordable
and delectable street food.

Manufacturing Plans
Affordafoods takes pride in our street food products, made with care and
precision. The products are carefully selected fresh ingredients from the market,
ensuring the quality. By avoiding excessive or lacking flavors, the production process
follows efficient and cost-effective procedures, guaranteeing both affordability and top-
notch quality for the customers. Affordafoods commits to sustainability and opts for
simple yet eco-friendly packaging, minimizing costs while making a positive impact on
the environment. Affordafoods prioritizes the authenticity of homemade goodness,
efficient production, and a conscious approach to packaging.

objectives. However, if sales objectives and returns on investment are less than 90%,
certain actions will be taken. These actions include:

1. Campus Business Challenges: If engagement does not improve within a set time
frame, group members will be contacted to encourage student participation by
improving marketing strategies.

2. Diminished Sales Performance: Product placement tactics will be reevaluated, and

inventory modifications will be made to better suit student preferences in areas of low
performance.

3. Financial constraints: The owners will look for a lower priced supplier with good
quality product.

4. Student Dissatisfaction: Student employees will also receive training sessions to

improve their customer service abilities and guarantee a great experience for
customers.

5. Low Service Performance: Customers are urged to report problems right away if they
occur. To guarantee a speedy resolution and raise the standard of service provided
overall, these complaints will be swiftly addressed.
