 LITERACY RATE
Human resources (HRMs) that are very much needed for indonesia’s gold in 2045.There are three
aspects that must be fulfilled in order to realize the great human resouces,namely basic
literacy,character,and competence.Literacy is still a matter to be dealt with in
indonesia.According to a survey conducted by the Internasional Student Assesment Programme
(PISA) by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in 2019,indonesia
ranks 62nd out of 70 countries,or is among the 10 lowest countries with low literacy levels.Based
on these issues,the government through the Ministry of Coordinator for Human and Cultular
Development (Kemenko PMK) is designing a“National Literacy Education Road Map”.
Didik Suhardi,Deputy Coordinator of Mental Revolution,Cultural Promotion and Improvement
of Sports Performance of Kemenko PMK,said that the Literacy Education Road Map will
server as a benchmark for the Ministry/Agency,Community,and public institusions concerned
to implement literacy culture programmes.It was delivered by Didik in the Finalization
Meeting of the Literacy Culture Road Map,boldly and glamorously at the Bogor Pearl Hotel,on
Thursday (18/11).
“This road map should not just be a document,but should really be a guide to the work of all
of us.Then we’ll all know what we’re going to do to our goals,”he said.
The National Literacy Education Road Map is being designed,there are several areas of scope
to be targeted,namely,Family Literatur Education,Literation Edication School,Literacy College
Education,and Community Literacy Youth.Forthermore,Deputy Didik conveyed,literacy has a
broad meaning.There’s a sense of ability to understand information,ability to communicate,or
ability to read and write.Literacy also means the depth of one’s knowladge of a subject of
science.
Deputy Didik said literacy skills needed to improve the quality of indonesian human quality in
reading.The same is true of the writings to be studied.Therefore,according to him,literacy culture
should be done.
“This literacy culture is very important in order to realize indonesia’s superior Human
resources,which will advance indonesia by 2045,”he said.
As information,that meeting was attended by Deputy Assistant Literacy,Innovation,and Creativity
of Kemenko PMK Jazziray Hartoyo,sources and experts in the field of literature,as well as
representatives of the Ministry of Literature,National Library,academics,and literary communities
from various regions.
