Field REFBS Is Not Filled in ME21N: Symptom
Symptom
Whenever you are creating a purchase order with reference to an old purchase order, the reference document field (field
REFBS) is not filled / displayed when we see the same in ME22N or ME23N.
Environment
Materials Management (MM)
SAP R/3
SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.7
SAP ERP Core Component
SAP ERP
SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP
SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP, version for SAP HANA
Cause
There is a reference field for purchase requisition, outline agreement and RFQ but not for the copied Purchase Order.
P. Req:
MEPO1211-BANFN
Contract:
MEPO1211-KONNR
RFQ:
MEPO1211-ANFNR
PO:
MEPO1211-REFBS
The fields BANFN, KONNR and ANFNR are actual fields in Table EKPO. This means that values are actualy stored in the purchase
order, but field REFBS not. I.e. When you refer a PO to create another PO the number of the 'old' PO is not stored like as the
reference to a Preq, contract or a RFQ. The field for referencing a PO is put next to the other fields just for your convenience.
The fields MEPO1211-REFBS similar way MEPO1211-REFPS are provided only to copy some data from a reference purchase order.
However the function to persist the reference document in the database is not available.
Besides of purchase orders, field REFBS can also be used to copy info from other purchasing documents to new purchase order, such
as request for quotation, contract or scheduling agreement.
Resolution
This is the standard design.
Technically you can use include structure CI_EKPODB from Transparent Table EKPO to include two new Z-fields for REFBS and
REFPS and store this data in the database using one of the standard exits..or BAdI (Business Add-In) ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST.
