TRAINING STUDIES FOR OUTFIT ADVISORS

1. Describe how the Crew system operates in the Outfit.

2. How can an Outfit Advisor apply the Scout Method in the Senior Scouting Program?
- An outfit advisor takes charge of the Senior Scouts and to be able for him to
develop and nurture Senior scouts the Scout Method should be applied in the
Program.
- The Scout method is composed of 8 elements
a. The Scout Oath and Law – All of the Senior Scout Activities must be
anchored with the Scout Oath and Law. That is not only for Fun but guided
by the 3 principles Duty to God, Duty to Others, and Duty to oneself.
b. Learning by doing – Learning is not limited to the 4 corners of our
classrooms. And for the Senior Scouts, Experience is one of the best teachers.
c. Personal Progression – Senior Scouting is not merely learning a new set of
ideas but rather taking themselves to a higher level of challenge to prove
themselves for continuous improvement.
d. Team System – By grouping senior scouts into small teams, they learn to
work collaboratively, enhance their interaction skills and improve their value
of teamwork.
e. Adult Support – by supporting them, we are giving them the idea that adults
look for the young ones, wherein adults facilitate and help the young ones to
learn meaningful experiences.
f. Symbolic Framework – the creation of symbolism to show their identity as
Senior Scouts.
g. Nature – Leading the Senior scouts to be with the environment by staying and
camping with the environment, after using we can also return back the favor
by cleaning and changing the things that we used by tree planting.
h. Community Involvement – Senior Scouts can understand the value of service
to others so by letting them join in Clean-up Drives, Tree Planting, and
Coastal Clean-up the more they realize their roles in the community.

3. What activities and projects does the Outfit should undertake in the Senior Scouting Program?
Justify your answer
Activities and Projects that an Outfit should undertake in the Senior Scouting
Programs should be:
1. Activities that are income generating – Senior scouts start to depend on
financial matters. Wherein they need something to spend for other
activities and other matters. If they are given this kind of activity they
will be more motivated to do the activity since they know they can gain
something from it.
Examples: Gulay mo Nutrition Ko – Planting Vegetables in School and
Selling them After
Recycling of Plastic Bottles
2. Clean and Green Program – with this activity, we can offer a good
service to the community by maintaining the cleanliness of the
surroundings it helps in making the people safe from diseases or
sicknesses like dengue. By cleaning also we preserve our nature for the
use of the next generation.
3. Physical Activities – that promote health and wellness. Without proper
care, you will not be able to perform other duties and responsibilities.
4. How can a Senior Scout advance to the highest rank of the Senior Scouting Program?
- For a senior scout to advance to the highest rank of the Senior Scouting Program
He / She must undergo the 4 stages of Advancement:
o Preparation – The Scout Learns!
o Examination – The Scout is Tested!
o Review - The Scout is Reviewed!
o Award – The Scout is Recognized

Outdoorsman Scout
Venturer Scout
Eagle Scout

5. How can a Senior Scouting program be made appealing to young people of the Senior
Scouting age?
- By conducting activities that involve the community wherein they can realize that
they too can do something for the community.
- Power of mouth – by spreading the Good news about the Senior Scouting
program. As early as the recruitment where we can talk about the benefits of this
program not only to the students but also with their parents.
- Power of the Media – nowadays we cannot hide something anymore because of
media we were able to be aware of what is happening around us by simply
capturing the enjoyable moments of scouting and posting it to Facebook and
others.
- Peer to Peer sharing of memorable experiences others might be motivated to join.
