TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
RATIONALE

In these times wherein the pandemic still persist, most people have

difficulty going to places they want to visit for various reasons whether

essential or non-essential. Majority of the populace belonging to the working

age group have lost their jobs, in effect they have no income to support their

families. One implication of this public health crisis is the cancellation of plans

and events such as weddings, seminars, conventions, and other special

occasions. These events are now allowed under the so-called “new normal”

but have restrictions, limiting the number to a few people in observance of the

health protocols imposed by the National Government. For fear of getting

infected by the dreaded virus, most people prefer to stay at home and simply

abide with the safety precautions. Due to long lockdown and stay at home

policy, most people resort to using the internet and gadgets to ease their

boredom. People who want to push through with their plans find it risky and

bothersome and so they look for a safer way to realize their plans such as the

use of the internet.

In the field of industry, one of the largest employers and contributors of

positive economic impact are the event organizers. The term event is used for

describing any activity that is designed for different purposes. Public or

private, commercial or charitable, celebratory or commemorative, bring people

together to share an experience and produce a measurable outcome.


According to Joyce Bella (2019), an experienced international and local

destination wedding planner based in the Philippines with an extensive

background in the hospitality industry, she finds greater inspiration in creating

magica weddings in the most stunning destinations in the Philippines including

Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Palawan, and beyond.

She is at her happiest when witnessing each of her wedding projects

coming to life and her clients enjoying one of the most special moments of

their lives. With her broad understanding of client communication, luxury

properties and accommodations, and 5-star quality service, Joyce then

became a destination wedding planner at the leading wedding planning

According to I-Tech Digital Systems & Trading (2017), a full-fledged

digital and multimedia company started as services and training, a company

that provides auxiliary supply and services on sales and rental of high luminal

LCD projectors, screens in different sizes and other audiovisual equipment,

through the challenges of pandemic, the production itself remains fortified with

innovations to serve the clients, especially the recommended type of

approach with compliance to quarantine protocols, which is the virtual events


and live streaming services of what I-Tech is excelling in new normal.

Event planning and management includes budgeting, establishing

dates and alternate dates, selecting and reserving the event site, acquiring

permits, and coordinating transportation and parking. Event management also

includes some or all of the following depending on the event: developing a

theme or motif for the event, arranging for speakers and alternate speakers,

coordinating location support(such as electricity and other utilities), arranging

décor, table, chairs, tents, event support and security, catering, police, fire,

portable toilets, parking, signage, emergency plans, health care professionals,

and cleanup.

According to Chris Powell (2020), founder of the Event Expert, has

been designing, planning and delivering events for the past 24 years, and a

specialist event management trainer and consultant, he have been a local

authority event manager and event director of a range of events including

Exhibitions, Superhero Tri, Food and Beer festivals, Press Launches, major

festivals and conferences as well as helping variety of organizations to deliver

their event – as a freelance events manager and coach.

Like many things in life, the ability to deliver outstanding events has to

be learned. So, if you really want to put on a great event, you’ll need, on your

team – experience, creativity, technical knowledge, vision, contacts, and

above all event planning expertise.

Events are indeed the ultimate live marketing experience so you need

to take care of the design and delivery of them. However with the right kind of

help(someone who has been there many times before) you can indeed be a

great planner and could be saying “I organized that event… with a little help

According to Sasha Souza, considered one of the top event designs

clients event including writing complex event overviews, creating storyboards,

design boards, full scale diagrams, and managing all aspects of client

meetings including food tasting, menu creation and suggestion of wines and

liquor for events. All events are fully designed to ensure the creation of unique

details, lighting and power requirement are met, transportation for the guests

is well planned out, floral design and décor for event match the client vision,

invitation and guest list management including guest seating is completed in a

timely manner, all rental orders are submitted and billed, all BEO information

is to the catering managers and all floor plans are to scale. All events receive

event timelines that include all setup and teardown schedules, vendor contact

information and detailed information for the guest experience.

As part of day to day operations, tasks include intake of new and


prospective clients, management of budget spreadsheets, binders, folios,

email and phone call support with current clients, design of spaces including

pin boards and vendor dialogue. Day to day social media responsibilities

include posts to the company Facebook, twitter, and instagram pages as well

as the blog for the company. Other tasks include speaking on behalf of the

company to large groups of hospitality industry peers at industry meetings and

conferences as well as press interviews with hospitality and bridal media

about trends in the industry.

The general objective of this study is to design and develop a user friendly

Specifically, this study aims to achieve the following objectives:
