Masonic Charities For Crippled Children
Note: This List of Accomplishments and Contributions by the MCCCI during the
governance of the Board of Trustees from 2014-2016 are listed below. During the time of
MW Abraham Tolentino, PGM, as the operation of MCCCI was stopped and all the medical
assistance was deferred. Partnership and contracts to all hospitals, pharmacies, and other
non-government organizations were ceased. As a consequence of the operational halt and
termination of partnerships and contracts, no patients or beneficiaries received medical,
surgical, or rehabilitative assistance.
MCCCI was able to assist Thirty Eight (38) patients for their operation for the year 2014
(January 2014 to December 2014) with a total cost of Seven Hundred Nineteen Thousand
Nine Hundred Four Pesos and Twenty Three Cents (Php 719,904.23)

The UP-PGH Masonic Children’s Orthopedic Ward was inaugurated on May 23, 2014
expanding it’s capacity from 10 to 20 children beds for pediatric.
MCCCI donated Two (2) Complete sets of Orthopedic Beds for the use of Pediatric
Orthopedic Patients at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center under the care of

MCCCI Representatives; 1) Dr. Antonio T. Tactay; 2) Dr. James C. Paggao, and 3) Dr. Robert

The donations of One (1) unit of Incubator with Skin Monitor and One (1) Unit Infusion
Pump to Eastern Bicol Medical Center was held on 27th day of May 2014. MCCCI was
represented by Chairman Alan Purisima, Corporate Secretary VW Benito K. Tan, MW
Santiago T. Gabionza, Jr., PGM, and other Masonic dignitaries. The Eastern Bicol Medical
Center was represented by Gov. Araceli Wong and Dr. Maria Alcantara.
MCCCI celebrated its 90th founding anniversary with a program acknowledging our
Volunteer Medical Doctors held on August 1, 2014 at the Aguirre Hall in Camp Crame,
Quezon City, with the theme “Taos Pusong Aruga sa Batang may Kapansanan”.
MCCCI has opened another extension office at Legazpi City, Albay in coordination with
Mayon Lodge No. 61. It was inaugurated on December 2, 2015 by its Chairman MW Tomas
G. Rentoy III and Corporate Secretary VW Benito K. Tan. The unit was administered by the
following officers: WB Jerome C. Lee (Unit Representative); Bro. Francis Ryan Lim
(Treasurer) and Bro. Dr. Karlo Jacob (Medical Director.

The two entities agreed on their partnership to serve indigent differently abled children,
Eighteen (18) years of age and below suffering the Cleft Lip and Palate, Juvenile Cataract,
Congenital Talipes Equinovarus (Club Foot), Genu Varum (Bow Leggedness deformity),
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Hip Deformity), Limb Deformity, Congenital Rickets and other
orthopedic cases.
VOLUNTEER’S GATHERING
MCCCI celebrated it’s 91st anniversary at China Place Restaurant on August 5, 2015 with
the theme “ONWARD TO OUR FIRST CENTENARY IN THE SERVICE OF DIFFERENTLY
ABLED CHILDREN”. The event was attended by Dr. Reynaldo E. Ang, Philippine General
Hospital (PGH), Deputy Director for Administration; Dr. Edward H.M. Wang, Chairman of
PGH Department of Orthopedics; Dr. Bernardino Alpuerto II, Chief Resident of PGH
Department of Orthopedics; Bro. Manuel Agulto, Former PGH Chancellor, resident
physicians and nurses. It was also graced by MCCCI Trustee VW Alfred Li, President of
Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation. Former MCCCI beneficiaries Mr. Pastor “Boy
Saycon”, Ms. Regina Valdez, Ms. Ma. Emmanuelle Bravo (daughter of VW Emmanuel
Bravo) and other Masonic dignitaries were in attendance.
BENEFICIARIES CHEERS
MCCCI organized its “Beneficiaries Cheers” held on December 6, 2015 in cooperation with
Team Crissy of Concur Philippines (a SAP Company). The event was hosted by Corporate
Secretary Bro. Benito K. Tan. There were variety games facilitated by Team Crissy such as
Pinoy Henyo, Scavenger Hunt and many more. Prizes for Early Bird attendees were given to
Bilateral Club Foot patient at the same time, Cleft Patient name John David Mangandi and
Blount’s Disease patient Jasper Jeric P. Teruel.

The party was attended by 79 beneficiaries, 8 PGH Orthopedic Doctors, 2 Nurses, Social
Worker and other Masonic dignitaries. There were a total of 248 attendees.
The 94th Founding Anniversary of Rainbow Girls was held at Masonic Children’s Orthopedic
Ward last April 17, 2016. During their visitation, they presented song and dance numbers.
They also distributed meals and gifts to patients, doctors, and guardians of our
beneficiaries.
On March 18, 2016, MCCCI participated in Global Alliance oof Surgical Obstetric,
Trauma and Anaesthesia Care (G4) Asia Pacific Regional Consultative Meeting hosted in
partnership with Cure International, Mending Kids, Operation Smile and Smile Train. It was
chaired by the G4 Alliance’s Founding Executive Director Dr. Jayme Ang Henry, who was
joined by co-hosts and panelists Mr. Leron Lehman, Executive Director of Tebow Cure
Hospital- Cure International; Ms. Karisa Nguyen, Director of Research and Strategy of
Mending Kids; Dr. Irene Tangco, Medical Director of Operation Smile- Philippines; and Dr.
Ashish Sabharwal, Regional Vice President for Southeast Asia of Smile Train.
MCCCI was presented by its Corporate Secretary Bro. Benito K. Tan together with
the General Cosmetic Surgeon, Dr. Zuriel K. Tan of Mary Johnston Hospital.
