Introduction
In this report, I will analyse the economic impact of "working from home" and estimate the
amount of competition in the food takeout sector. The "Global Business Environment" (GBE)
is the shared background for both assessments. When an organisation operates in a global
context, it must account for issues endogenous and external to its living environment in
taking decisions about how to allocate its resources and build its capacity (Powers, 2020). It
is possible to divide the external and internal factors that affect businesses worldwide into
two distinct categories.

Report 1: Assessing the level of competitiveness in the Food
Takeaway Market
1) Market Structure
Since more and more people are buying their meals online, cloud kitchens have become
increasingly popular in the food takeaway sector. Due to busy consumer schedules,
widespread internet access, and the ease of using cloud restaurants, this trend is expected to
continue growing (Morrison, 2013). As a result, Cloud restaurants have become an attractive
business opportunity for both seasoned restaurateurs and first-time business owners.

There has been a rise in the percentage of people who have access to the internet, there has
been an increase in the availability of smartphones, there has been a reduction in the
complexity of online banking systems, there has been an improvement in the logistics of food
service, and people's lifestyles have been shifting. For example, I can analyse the online
marketplace for food takeaway in the UK known as Deliveroo currently has 32 million
monthly active users and has goals to increase that number to 10 million within the next few
years (Baisotti, 2022). As a result, the expansion of online meal takeaway services is being
driven by an increase in the number of people using smartphones and the percentage of
people who have internet access. The tracking of orders in real-time and the takeaway of
individualised meals are two of the more recent developments in the market that have been
analysed. As a result, businesses are boosting their expenditures on research and development
(R&D) and marketing, in addition to expanding their geographic reach, in order to keep their
current position in the market. Because of the model's capacity to help gain scale while
limiting costs and increasing speed, the majority of the leading players are pursuing logistics-
focused food takeaway systems. This is because the model can help gain scale.

2) Porter’s Five Forces

The limitations and strengths of an industry may be evaluated with the assistance of Porter's
Five Factors, which is a framework that identifies and analyses the five competitive factors
that have an effect on every industry (Gómez, 2016). The structure of an industry may be
determined by doing a Five Forces study, which is often used to inform business decisions.

There are five factors that influence an industry's competitiveness, as identified by Porter:
