List z zażaleniem (a letter of complaint) jest listem formalnym, który zazwyczaj piszemy do
instytucji lub osoby w celu wyrażenia naszego niezadowolenia z jakości produktu lub usługi.
Swoją pracę pisemną podziel na akapity i zachowaj jasny układ: zwrot grzecznościowy, wstęp,
rozwinięcie, zakończenie. Nie stosuj skrótów (np. I’m), korzystaj z wyszukanych zwrotów
typowych dla formalnego stylu, pisz krótko, zwięźle i na temat. Spójrz na poniższe zadanie:
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the citybreak I had lately organized by your
company. Contrary to the description in the leaflet, my stay was truly unpleasant.
Firstly, your agent promised a luxurious hotel in the central location, whereas it was a long way
from the centre. I was forced to take buses and honestly, I was unprepared for additional charges.
I would like to draw your attention to the incompetence of your employee who assured me that I
would have a magnificent view of a park in the tranquil area. It turned out that my window
overlooked a noisy playground. Moreover, I had very restricted access to the mini-bar in my
room, for it was empty and I needed to wait nearly two days until a cleaning lady restocked it.
Last but not least, I was informed that supper was not complimentary and on the day of my check-
out I had to pay 50 euros.
Taking into consideration all the trouble I had, I expect to receive a refund. I would appreciate it
if you provided me with a full explanation as well.
