LESSON DELIVERY Activity D(page 96)


1. Students read the information in the Exam Close-up box
and anything they don’t understand are explained. They
are reminded to make sure that the word they choose to
complete the gap fits logically with the sentences before
and after the gap. Students are asked to read the text again
and write down the words they think should complete
each gap.
2. Students asked to do the task individually to be discussed
later.
3. Teacher calls out students’ names to answer the gaps.
4. Teacher explains some answers when there are more than
one answer suggested

POST LESSON As homework, students are asked to answer Exercise F (page 97)
and to submit their answers to Google classroom.

ACTIVITIES PRE-LESSON Students are asked whether they have seen postcards before.
Students are explained that they are going to learn how to write a
postcard in this lesson. Students are asked to read the information
on Linking words and phrases and are explained the use of linking
words & phrases in a postcard.
LESSON DELIVERY Activity A (page 104)
1. Students are asked to read the instructions and circle the
correct linking word in each sentence. Students are
reminded to read the sentences before they circle their
answers and to read them again after making their choices
to see each one makes sense.
2. Students’ names are called to provide the answers.
Teacher explains when students make mistakes.
Activity B (page 104)
1. Students are asked to read the writing task and to
underline any keywords before doing the task. Students
answer the questions on their own and then to check their
answers as a class.
2. Teacher comments and explains.
Activity C (page 104)
1. Students are asked to read the example postcard and
circle the linking words and phrases that Luke has used.
Students are asked to do the task individually, but check
answers as class.
POST LESSON Students are asked to count the number of words in Luke’s
postcard. Teacher sums up the lesson by saying a postcard should
be short and if the content is too long, it is not considered as a
postcard anymore.
