Hands are difficult to draw. We all know it. So let's start with a few basic shapes!

Step 1 - The palm

Always start with the palm, it's the anchor of your hand. Sketch a square shape, but pay
attention to the subtle curves, as indicated with the green line.

Step 2 - The gloves

Now lets get an idea of how the fingers will be placed. Make a glove-like shape as a reference
for the fingers, but notice that the pinky sometimes gets out of this group. Adjust this glove
shape depending on what gesture you want to achieve, are the fingers together, or spreading?

Step 3 - Thumb

the thumb starts as part of the palm, and then you draw to sections outward.

Step 4 - Fingers

Fingers can seem intimidating but to simplify them just think of them as being divided in 3
sections and how to fit them into the glove. If you keep the 3 section rule in mind, bending
them doesn’t seem so difficult anymore right? Regarding shape, you have a lot of room for
artistic expression, fingers are unique and come in many forms, square, thick, rounded, slender
etc.

Take care on this last tip

Remember to add a bit of space between the fingers, for a more natural effect.
