Interview no 1
Q no 1.Kindly tell me what is going on in your life now a days. ?
Hahah, well you must be told about the routine Life of a woman, hailing from a tribal area
of Balochistan. So, I usually begin my day from making and serving breakfast and end up
serving dinner at night. You might think that it is a very hard routine. But, for me, that is what
it is. Meanwhile,I as well am faced with a great deal of taunting and scolding if i dare to show
laziness with the ongoing routine life.

Q 2. Do you think that women are subordinate to men?

Well, i partly believe in it and partly do not. Women are subordinate to men as long as they
are not educated. Their education breaks the shakles of their subordination and submission
to man. This is evident from women participation in varied aspects of life. However, as far as
they are kept illiterate, they are subordinate and submissive to men and they do not have
any say superior to that of men in the house.

Q 3 Do you think that women are deprived of their own decisions?

Sadly the answer is yes. Women do not have any say in decision-making. They are not even
taken into confidence by men while deciding their marriage. Forced marriages and child
marriages are quite widespread in our area. Uhhhh, i must not claim the applicability of this
over all Pakistan. But it's applicability is evident in Balochistan. So, it is heartening to note
that women are deprived of their own decisions.
Closing Questions
Q1. what are the current affects of domestic violence on your mental health?
Welll! I don't feel to live in a house. I rather feel to live in a place where i am
deemed to be tortured some way or the other. I get very depressed even at
slight matters. I feel awfully unwell all the time. I feel to be burdened with a
weight all the time. Most importantly, i realise the extermination of my sweet
smile that k had when i was young.
Q2. do you feel that your mental health would be good if you did not face
domestic violence.
Hmmm! There is no denying the fact that absence of domestic violence would
have been my smile, laughter, cheerfulness, happiness, mental peace and
harmony. It would be my happy marital status, my caring and loving husband,
my sweet children. All these come when there is no domestic violence. And if
all these were there in my life, i would be far away from the curse of domestic
violence.
