ASHTON HAYES PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWS

QUESTIONNAIRE
Many thanks to all who have completed the questionnaire which we sent home with your children last week. To make it even easier to complete, this can now be done online! Please follow this link: www.surveymonkey.com/s/FKQG29F to take you straight to the questionnaire. Your feedback is vital to us in moving forward to be a more successful school and I am grateful for any constructive support. Thank you for your time.

ISSUE 8 / AUTUMN TERM 2011 / FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2011 MORNING ARRIVAL IN SCHOOL
We have noticed that there are a number of children late into school in the mornings. Can I please remind you that the school bell rings at 8.40am, with the teachers taking them straight into school for the register from 8.45am. Any children late into school can be disruptive for the teacher and the rest of the class, as often there is a morning activity for the children to do as soon as the come into school.

TOY SERVICE AT ST. JOHNS CHURCH

Can I remind you that there will be a Toy Service in the church on Sunday 4th December, where we will be reminded of the importance of giving at this important time in the Christian calendar.

BUILDING WORK UPDATE

Inside Class 4 with their kitchen units being installed...no excuse for washing up the art equipment in these rooms!

CLASS 3
Thank you for your support as we have spent the past couple of weeks nding a suitable teacher to teach Class 3, following Mrs Evanss earlier-than-expected departure from school. I am delighted to inform you that Miss Bennett will be working with Class 3 for the coming weeks. I appreciate that there has been a lack of homework for Class 3 and that some of the reading books have not been checked by a teacher as regularly as I would have liked. This situation should now rectify itself very quickly. We welcome Miss Bennett to our school next week.

We are really pleased with this linking corridor, currently being plastered. It will be a lovely space to use with the children with a great wall of glass.

STRIKE ACTION
As you will have read and heard, the 30th November is looking to be a national strike day for many workers. As a result, unfortunately, the Infant Sing a Christmas Story event has been cancelled. For those parents who have paid 2.00 for this event, this contribution can be transferred to the Infant Christmas Theatre event in school...more details to follow in a letter. We have managed to move the Junior Sing a Christmas Story into the following week. So we will be taking Years 3-6 to Chester Cathedral on Monday afternoon (5th Dec). All other arrangements detailed in the letter sent out are unchanged. I will let you know as soon as possible if Ashton Hayes Primary School is affected by the strike action.
