Service Manager Monthly Activity Checklist

Things that need to be done by the service manager on a monthly basis:

o Develop technician work schedule:


o Vacation days identified and other missed days
o Develop on call schedule
o Provide copy to the Dispatcher
o Total manpower understood
o Create broad training plans:
o Weekly plans
o Develop focus areas for the month—i.e. customer service, sales, technical areas
o Develop contests and/or spiffs
o Review Coaching & Tracking Manager data:
o Technician statistics
o Identify training opportunities
o Congrats to top performers and improved performers
o P&L review:
o Review revenue and sold hour variance to prior year and budget
o Review direct labor and material percentages to prior year and budget
o Determine action plans (if needed)
o Review future month’s revenue budgets and determine staffing needs
(increased or reduction in force)
o Make any price book updates as needed
