Good morning, everyone. Thank you for being here today.

Let me introduce myself briefly,

my name is Lan Phuong. As you know, Nowadays, a part-time job has become a popular
activity for students in the university. The number of students having a part-time job has
increased significantly over the past few years. What are the reasons? That’s why I’m here
to make a short presentation on the topic “The advantages of the part-time job while
studying” As you can see from the pictures on my hand, these are the top 4 part-time jobs
that students usually choose to do while studying: service staff, cashier, content write and
tutor. I have been working as a tutor for almost 1 year now and I love this job very much
because it brings a lot of benefits. This presentation will last 5 to 7 minutes, and it is divided
into 3 main sections such as getting financial support, improving necessary soft skills and
boosting CV. I would be grateful if any questions could be left until the end. Let’s get started.
I will start with the first advantage of working a part-time job is getting financial support. This
remains one of the most significant rewards. Students may be able to make extra money in
addition to the funds provided by their parents for daily living needs. Working part-time may
provide them with extra income to pay tuition and split the financial load with their parents.
They may also use this money to enjoy more fun in life, whether by going shopping, going
out, or putting it towards something useful. The second advantage is Having a part-time job
assists students in improving necessary soft skills such as communication skills and working
under pressure skills . They will also learn the best ways to communicate with They r
colleagues, When students improve their communication skills, they definitely communicate
confidently in any place such as in public, in class and so on without any nervous feeling.
Furthermore, thanks to a part-time job, students can gain working under pressure skills.
Students can gain these necessary skills by attending part-time jobs when they have to
balance work and study, deal with an emergency at work and so on. The final advantage is
PTJ helps us boosting CV. When teenagers or adults who are doing part-time jobs, they will
learn many skills and experiences from their employers which can enhance their CV and
make them more employable. Students might include these things in their CV or Resume, as
it shows that they have transferable skills. When writing or updating their CV, showing that
they have been in employment will appear professional and work in their favour.
To sum up, working some part-time jobs for students not only allows you to offset some of
your student loans but also gives you valuable social and professional experiences. Three
obvious advantages of part-time jobs are getting financial support, improving necessary soft
skills and boosting CV. Therefore, students should have at least a part-time job while they
are studying at university. However, students should choose a part-time job that is suitable
for their ability and health. Part-time jobs will likely become a popular activity, so the student
rate of working part-time jobs is also increasing in the near future.
