Our library prides itself on being a direct reflection of the school
community. This includes having resources for those listed below
learning styles
reading ability level
language
cultural background
disabilities
student interest
Surveys are often sent out to students and teachers In order to
provide quality books and technological resources for everyone
who visits the media center
The auditing process that our media center does makes sure to
emphasize taking away books that are damaged or outdated and
replacing them with books that Include all types of representation
for the students.

INFORMATION
The library media committee consists of teachers,
parents, administrators, and students. The committee
will meet once each semester after every book fair. The
committee will discuss what to do with the money raised
from the book fair and where it will best be spent. The
committee will also discuss how to go about Issues such
as book banning or parental concerns when It relates to
the media center.
Applications will be sent out at the beginning of July
each Summer. Everyone will serve two years on the
Committee

SCHOOL POLICIES &
PROCEDURES EXAMPLES
Policy #1:
Each year a wedding process will be conducted. The decision to take away
resources from the library is made by the library media specialist.
Procedure:
All weeded materials should be marked as such in a Google Sheet and given
to the media specialist
Books should be removed when:
The content is outdated or irrelevant in today’s society.
They are broken or ripped and cannot be fixed
The needs of the school have changed, and the materials are not
needed anymore.
Policy #2:
Books must not be damaged both inside and outside of the media center.
Procedures:
Use bookmarks to prevent the folding of corners in books,
Do not rip or tear any pages
If needed report any wear and tear to the media specialist so it may be
repaired correctly.
When at home make sure to be gentle with the books

technology) for our school community
that are engaging, challenging, and
diverse to help aid In establishing
excellent learners and critical thinkers.
