Summary of VAG-COM tweaks for the CR Touareg 2019 onwards

This purpose of this thread is to list and document all tested VAG-COM coding changes for the
Touareg CR (2019 onwards) with CAN-BUS controllers and long coding.

Please PM a moderator or admin to add TESTED coding functions to this list.

The below have been verified on a MY21 V8 R-line (with Innovision)

Allow ACC to overtake on the left (pretty essential in Qld at least)

Module: 13 Adaptive Cruise Control
Long coding
Overtaking_right_prevention U “Deactivated”

Turn off disclaimer nag message on MMI

Module 5F Multimedia
Long coding
byte_23_Initial_Disclaimer U “Off”

Remember last air recirc setting (otherwise recirc always off at startup)
Module 09 Central Electrics
Long coding
Save_air_recirculation_status U “Store”

Allow DRL control in multimedia interface

Module 09 Central Electrics
Long coding
drl_mmi U “active”

Rear DRLs on (actually defaults sidelights on when DRL on)

Module 09 Central Electrics

sl_at_drl U “active”

Auto set park brake (when ignition turned off, sets gearbox to P and engages park brake)

Automatic parking brake U “activated”

Stop “easy entry” from running back passenger seat (useful for not squishing something
behind the seat, e.g. car seats/children)

To check Adblue level:
On OBD11
Engine - Live date
Reducing agent tank volume, act. value calculated - will give % of tank filled
Sensor for reducing agent fill level, calibrated - will give you remaining litres

Steve_L,
I tried the "Auto set park brake " and "Lane keeping assistant default to last setting " on my
2019 CR7 Touareg R-Line with MIB3 Discover Pro and both failed in Adaptation, I didn't note
the error message but I think it was something like invalid work number.

Hi
I tried updated soft 2944 to 2828. update was finished my maps was updated but soft stay the
same 2499. Ant now I have error in block 5F ( B2000 87 [009] ) The files I downloaded from
Volkswagen website and copy to sdcard and updated. How to delete this error? My car:
Touareg CR 2019 Discover Premium.

 Try this:
Firmware update confirmation
After firmware update there is a 1555 error in 5F module. To solve the problem you need
to do next:
1. Go to 5F module l Adaptation U "Confirmation of installation change" and write down
the value (let's assume it XXXX);
2. In any HEX-calculator (for example XOR Calculator Online) do next calculations "XXXX
XOR C9D2". Input calulated value in 5F module l Adaptation U "Confirmation of
installation change"
Previous value can displayed after, but error should gone.

Caller ID shows in heads-up display.

1. go to modual 82
2. coding
3.long coding helper
4.choose 2
5. choose bit4 to click
6. exit long coding helper
7.example of the new coding is AA40D0
8. do it
9. Coding have been accepted
10. restart the car, and testing now the incoming telephone number should be activated at
heads up display

[Haven't done as I wear polarised sunnies for driving - so HUD goes unseen.]

Yep this works well,, some of the other options( street names) work in that menu as well.
Have resorted to non polarised driving glasses for that reason

Hello
I just Update my soft from 2648 version to 2838. This morning I lost my VC view and setup at
every boot.
By default I had phone screen with classic display.
This evening, everything seems normal !
Any explination ?

So to clarify, you lost your vc altogether but got it back, works fine now? This happened
due to the update?

Any one tried to combine ambient lighting with drive mode like in audi (red for sport, green
eco..) ?
I found posts for mqb models but nothing for mlb :

Hi All,

I picked up my new Touareg in July 2022, all is well and really enjoying my purchase. Great to
see that people have already started listing mods.
I purchased a VAG-COM and have done a few mods including the ones listed on the first page
and forum

Enable TMC
Turn off disclaimer
Active speed sign recognition (works to an acceptable level)
Allow ACC to overtake on the left
Increase soft touch blinkers to 5
Wireless apple carplay (using adapter)

FYI
Also I paid to have the apple car play to fill the full screen, which I can't believe VW didn't do as
standard. You need a couple of parts, then they code your vehicle remotely.
Trust me I was worried at first but everything went smoothly and well worth the cost
approximately $350 euros.

On the list to keep trying to get to work

Wireless carplay to work without an adapter

Area view to come up automatically when sensors are triggered at low speed
Throttle lag

I live out Melbourne's east and happy to help anyone if required r want to know more.

As far as the throttle lag is concerned, I'm not sure much can be done about this without
a gearbox remap. I dropped in to see someone in the UK (very highly regarded outfit
called Darkside Developments) who have experience in tuning the V6 and V8 TDi and the
ZF gearbox... but my car's here in Aus and they can't do it remotely! Be interesting to hear
if you pick up any other info.
I heard rumour that the 'lag' could be the gearbox preserving itself... or that it could be
due emissions stuff. Not sure, but I really don't want to tear my gearbox apart

Hi Vne,
Parts you need are a SD card, a USB to network adapter and laptop with internet access when
your in the vehicle. They program remotely and takes about an hour.

the week I installed a throttle controller and it has made a huge difference in the lag

to the point I hardly notice it. The lag use to catch me out when you are rolling half way

controller

Hi All,

Found another mod on a website that works on our CR's, this remembers your last distance
setting on ACC.

I have success with the following settings in [13-Auto Dist. Reg]

Byte 9 Bit 0 Activated

Byte 16 Bit 5 Activated
CrDubNut
Byte 2326Bit 1 Activated

Now can set in the MMI under "Driver Assistance systems"
Change theall.
Thank you number of blinks on light press of the indicator (by default is 3 blinks)
