Quality Assurance Checklist – Part A (Project Management)

Quality assurance can be defined as "part of quality management focused on providing confidence that
quality requirements will be fulfilled." QA establishes and maintains set requirements for developing or
manufacturing reliable products. A quality assurance system is meant to increase customer confidence
and a company's credibility, while also improving work processes and efficiency, and it enables a company
to better compete with others.

You can refer this checklist to go forward with your Quality Assurance Assessment. This is Part A of this
checklist, please refer Part B of this checklist as well for further information.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

At the Beginning of the Project Yes No N/A

Have the principal stakeholders and project sponsors been identified? ✔

Was the key stakeholder involved in the planning?

When it comes to project definition, has the stakeholder and sponsors formally approved it?

Have the objectives, scope and deliverables been clearly defined?

When it comes to project management, do your project management procedures exist to

define how it is done?

Does a project workplan exist?

Does the workplan contain a full testing process, including user acceptance testing?

For follow-up QA checks, does the workplan contain milestones?

Is there at least two months of detailed work activities in the workplan?

Do the duration, cost and estimated effort appear reasonable?

Have the team supervisors of those employees who are not on your team full-time agreed
to make them accessible when you need them?

Is there effective communication with key stakeholders?

Are the business customers happy with the project progress so far?

Is there proper management of customer expectations?

Are proper processes being utilized to ensure completeness, correctness and overall
quality?

Are the project finances being actively managed to complete within the budget?

In terms of quality, cost and duration, is the project on track?

Are new potential risks being identified and old risks are being managed?

Are issues being addressed and resolved in a timely manner?

Are the identification and management of scope change requests being done?

Were any major changes encountered that require the Project Definition to be updated?

To manage the work performed by the team, is the workplan being used?

Is the remaining work effort being reflected correctly by the workplan?

Does the workplan contain detailed work activities for at least the next two months?

Can the project manager clearly explain where the project is vs. where it should be at this
time?

Are the deliverables listed in the project definition completed?

Is the production application being monitored, and are problems being corrected as
necessary?
