REVISED GUIDELINES FOR THE SEARCH FOR MOST OUTSTANDING

TEACHER OF THE YEAR (MOTY) IN THE SCHOOLS OF THE DISTRICT
STARTING THIS SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024 AND THEREAFTER

I. In line with the implementation of District PRAISE Program Initiative this school year 2023-2024
geared towards helping the schools achieve its mandate to promote the professional development and
performance of its teachers, the Search for Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year (MOTY) this
School Year 2023-2024 is hereby introduced for district-wide implementation.
II. The following are the indicators and the corresponding points for each indicator relative to the
implementation of the Search for School MOTY Awardees, to mention:
A. Teaching and Learning (25)
1. Submission of Lesson Plans (5)
2. Attendance to Classes (6)
3. Classroom Observations Performance (6)
4. Division LRMD Quality-assured Instructional Materials (8)

17. Awardee as winning coach, contestant, and coordinator of any DepEd academic and sports
competitions in Division or higher level (5). All contest ranks are accepted for as long as given with
Certificate of Recognition as winning coach, contestant or coordinator. The points will only be given
to coordinator and not to members
 5.0 – 3 or more instances as recipient of award/ recognition within the SY 2023-2024
 3.5 – 1 or 2 instances as recipient of award/ recognition
 0.0 – Did not receive at all
IV. The documents collected by the School PRAISE Committee will be the basis for the computation of
points earned by the teacher.
V. The determination of the Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year (MOTY) awardee in the school
for the School Year 2023-2024 will be based on HYBRID SCHEME, i.e.
a) If any teacher gets an overall total of 90 points & above from all the identified indicators, or
b) If in case no one reaches 90 points, any teacher or teachers who rank highest in the overall
total score will be considered MOTY awardee for the school.
VI. All teachers who are determined as Most Outstanding Teacher of the Year in the School will be part of
the list of awardees for recognition during the District GAWAD Parangal “GARBO NATO v2.0” to be
conducted during the Teachers Month in the succeeding school year.
VII. All previous issuances which are inconsistent with the provisions of this Order are hereby repealed or
modified accordingly. These guidelines shall remain in force starting this School Year 2023-2024 and in
effect to all succeeding school years until revised or repealed.
VIII. Immediate dissemination of and compliance with this Order are hereby directed.
