BACKGROUND
Muhammad , has global developmental delay and was diagnosed last 2021, he is
in Transition class and enjoys doing classroom chores like sweeping, cleaning the windows and
arranging tables and chair. He is sometimes moody but tend to follow simple instructions.
He has difficulty in remembering numbers and letters except from 1- 30, he knows how
to use denominations and can independently buy what he wants to eat during recess time.
Muhammad had been in my class since 2020 and showed little progress at first but has
promising agricultural skills like tending their mango grove and taking care of their farm
animals, he is very fond of his cow , which he named “ mercedita” and his two goats Elvis and
Loida.
He is our athlete in the upcoming 5 th CDSA meet to be held in the town of Concepcion
this coming first week of March 2024. He will be running on the 100-200-300 meters, long
jump and possible shot put.
At present he is my transition learners in my section Sped- Blue, he is also a recipient of
4ps.

BEFORE
Out of my 21 learners enrolled in my section I have have chosen one of my underprivileged .I
have informed the parents and obtain verbal permission to take photos of their children prior
to the activity We prepared school supplies to be given like coloring materials, notebooks,
pencils , bag and others. Following are the materials given to the learner:

Following are the excerpts from the Interview conducted:
1. Challenges in encountering SNED’s in class are the following:
Acceptance of parents towards their child’s situation
No budget allocation
Late intervention
2. Loop holes in the implementation of SPED programs:
No trainings for receiving teachers
No budget allocation for receiving teachers or compensation
Lack of facilities, teacher mindset and attitudes towards
inclusion
3. Suggestions to enhance SPED programs:
More budget allocation
More training for teachers
SPED awareness

Compassion and empathy towards SNED’s
Patience is a virtue and a rewarding experience
We teachers can touch lives and can cause changes in the lives
of the learners
