“The beginning is the most important

part of the work” –Plato
It says that the beginning is the most important part of the work because the ending or the result or
outcome of the work depends on the beginning. An example is solving a Math problem. Once you went
wrong on the first step, then the following steps would be wrong too and the final answer would never be
correct. The quotation says that we must always make the right choice as we take our first steps in
exploring life because that is the root of everything to follow. We make the best choice at the start; we
smell the fragrance of success at the end.

I can relate this quotation in my life. My life isn’t that easy and thug but a challenging and a tough one.
My family isn’t perfect; we also face emotional, financial or business-related problems. My love life is
still processing because there are important things still missing. My education, however, is worth fighting
for because our life revolves only in the endless sets of written works, exams and performance tasks. The
competition in school is tough. My extra-curricular activities are important and it’s my obligation to carry
my SBO and Interact Club at my back with all the best I can give. I can say that my whole life is tiring
and depressing not like somebody else’s life. But the question is why is this happening to me? Maybe
because I wasn’t able to apply Plato’s quotation in my life. The beginning is very important that is why
we need to think of how we are going to begin things. Maybe I made the wrong choice. But believe me
when I say this, I made the right choice. The reason for my choice is I want to grow up. I was raised by
my strict parent who rarely lets me play outside the house with our neighbours; they sent me into a big
private catholic school where I never grew up. High School came it’s my parents who made DMMMSU
as one of my choices for my secondary school. I decided to try DMMMSU, and yes, it’s a nice thing
because as I enter the portals of this university, many opportunities came to me. Because of that, I was
able to discover my hidden abilities. Also, many trials and challenges took place for me to be tested if
how can I handle life under pressure. I made the right choice. In DMMMSU, I was able to help my mom
in financial matters because I became a scholar, I was able to showcase my academic excellences in our
classes, I was able to compete in different competitions, from provincials to nationals, I was able to
develop my self-confidence in leading a certain institution, I was able to attend different seminars and
workshops, I became a part of the journalism team, I had the guts in joining pageants and I always took
home the bacon, I learned how to organize big events such as JS Promenades, I became a part of Mariano
Juniors Pep Squad and LHS Streetdancing Team wherein we achieved big awards and recognitions, I
learned how to love public speaking, I met loyal, humble and true friends that I can count on, I met world-
class professors who transformed me to what I am today, and I experienced being happy in school despite
of all the stress, conflicts and rushed requirements. The most important thing now is I AM HAPPY. To
cut my project short, I made the right choice when I chose DMMMSU over CKC. The university
moulded me to become a better person. Choosing DMMMSU was my beginning, the most important part
of my life. And now I’m here, continuously upgrading and growing. The beginning made me what I am
today. The right choice of mine made me brighter.
