1. What is gender equality in the Office? Explain and give example.

 A gender-equal workplace exists when everyone, regardless of gender, can

equally access and enjoy resources, opportunities and benefits to thrive and
progress at all levels.
A company committed to workplace gender equality holds itself accountable to
implement mechanisms that eliminate both direct and indirect discrimination
and ensures an inclusive work environment and culture.

Example:
Equal pay and benefits for comparable roles with similar responsibilities
Equal opportunities for promotions and career progression
Equal consideration of needs

2. Give atleast five gender responsive Office practices. And explain.

 The Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710) defines Gender and
Development Program (GAD) as the development perspective and process that is
participatory and empowering, equitable, sustainable, free from violence,
respectful of human rights, supportive of self-determination and actualization of
human potentials. It seeks to achieve gender equality as a fundamental value that
should be reflected in development choices and contends that women are active
agents of development, not just passive recipients of development.

3. What is safe spaces act and give examples.

 The Safe Spaces Act is a law in the Philippines that aims to ensure the equality,
security, and safety of every individual in both private and public spaces,
including online and in workplaces. The law supplements the existing Anti-
Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 by broadening the crime of sexual harassment in
the workplace to include unwelcome sexual advances, requests, or demands for
sexual favors or any act of a sexual nature that has or could have a detrimental
effect on an individual’s employment, job performance, or opportunities.
Example:
All restaurants, bars, cinemas and other places of recreation shall install in their
business establishments clearly-visible warning signs against gender -based public
spaces sexual harassment, including the anti- sexual harassment hotline number in bold
letters, and shall designate at least one (1) anti-sexual harassment officer to receive
gender-based sexual harassment complaints.
