Why I should learn the fundamentals of investigation and intelligence?

As a criminology student, my aim in life is to become a member of the Police force. This is
a career choice that involves reducing crime, understanding the mindset of criminals and the
reformation of criminals as well so they can be reintegrated to society. Probing and
intelligence gathering will also be an integral part in my future career and in order for me to
be successful in my chosen field, I will have to learn their fundamentals.

Criminal investigation is very important as it seeks to determine the methods, motives,

and identities of both the criminal and the victim, as well as the extraction of information
from witnesses. A crime will never be solved and justice will not be served until a successful
investigation will never be carried out. As for intelligence goes, the successful gathering of it
can help identify individuals or groups that are engaged in criminal activity, which in turn, can
help monitor, prevent, and even anticipate criminal activity.

By learning the said fundamentals, I believe I will be able to efficiently accomplish my role
as a law enforcer. And as a reward for doing so, I expect to myself to achieve greater success
by rising from the ranks. When that happens, I know that I am faithfully accomplishing my
chosen career.
