On the day of the trip, my brothers and I set off
very early. In fact, we didn’t even have time for
any breakfast. 1 ___ So, naturally, by midday
my stomach started complaining! I asked Dean,
my older brother, to stop at a petrol station for
a quick burger, but he shook his head. 2 ___
‘There’s one on the way, about thirty kilometres
from here. We’ll have lunch there,’ Dean said.

Anyway, there we were, and I was terribly
