Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a form of alternative therapy

that combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine and psychology. It involves tapping on
specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a particular issue or emotion.

The theory behind EFT is that disruptions in the body's energy system can lead to emotional
distress and physical symptoms. By tapping on these points, it is believed that the energy flow is
restored, and negative emotions are released. Practitioners often use EFT to address a wide
range of issues, including anxiety, phobias, PTSD, and chronic pain.

EFT is typically performed by tapping with the fingertips on specific points on the face, upper
body, and hands while repeating affirmations or phrases related to the issue being addressed.
The process is usually done in a sequence, starting with acknowledging the problem and
gradually shifting towards self-acceptance and resolution.

While research on EFT is still ongoing, some studies suggest that it may be effective in reducing
symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD. However, more research is needed to fully
understand its mechanisms and effectiveness.
