SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN

IN SCIENCE VI

I. OBJECTIVES
In the end of the lesson the pupils should be able to:
1. Identify the different forms of energy using pictures.
2. Describe how Heat, Sound, Light and electrical energy are produced
brought a tangible material.
3. Appreciate the importance Heat, Sound, Light and Electrical energy in
our daily lives.

II. SUBJECT MATTER

a.) Topic: Different forms of Energy
b.) References: Science Grade 6 Textbook
c.) Instructional Materials:
Power Point Presentation, Pictures

III. LESSON PROPER

A. Preparation
• Prayer
• Greetings
• Greet the students then ask them to seat properly.
• Checking of attendance

B. Motivation
Make the student play a game and it is called “Jumbled Letters”. The
teacher will demonstrate how to play the game and afterwards the
student will fix the word.

C. Analysis
a. what is energy?
b. What are the different kinds of energy?
C. How do the different kinds of energy differ from each other?

D. Abstraction
The Different forms of Energy:
Heat, Sound, Light, and Electrical Energy.

1. Heat energy
also called thermal energy, is the energy an object has
because of the movement of its molecules, and heat can be
transferred from one object to another object. Heat energy on Earth
comes from the sun.
2. Sound Energy is the movement of energy through a substance –
like air or water and is caused by vibrations. Solids, liquids and
gases transmit sound as waves.

3. Light energy
is a visible form of radiant energy that travels in waves. It is
the only form of energy that can be seen by the human eye.

4. Electrical Energy
is caused by moving electric charges called electrons.

E. Generalization
Ask some questions about the lesson that had been tackled.

 How many different energies in our lesson today?

 What are the different energies? Tell me one by one.

F. Application
Divide the students into two (2) groups. The teacher will give
different images that is related to the topic.

Group 1: Arrange the pictures that is given according to their given

energy.
Group 2: List examples in every form of energy that is given: Heat,
Sound, Light and Electrical Energy

IV. EVALUATION
Identify the word or words being described.
1. ________ It is the ability to do work.
2. The energy that makes materials hot enough to burn is called
_____?
3. It is a form of energy that helps in the transformation of mechanical
energy into electric energy used to run electric motors, electric fans,
refrigerators, and vacuum cleaners. _______
4. It is the only form of energy that can be seen by the human eye.
_____
5. Is the movement of energy through a substance like air or water and
is cause by vibrations. ________

V. ASSESSMENT
Directions: Analyze the pictures and Give what forms of energy is
pictures shown.
VI. ASSIGNMENT
Bring an object from your house that is example of different kinds of
energy.
