‘NEHIZHI ILLA TENKASI’

• An Eco marathon from new bus stand to Sivan temple will be
scheduled on 02/10/2023 by the district administration in
association with Rotary Club and National Green Corps.
• A department-specific Action plan for Elimination of plastic in
the district will be released in the meeting at the endpoint.
• The Action plan will be drafted in line with international and
national best practices to eliminate SUP.
• Strategies and mechanisms FOR REDUCTION, ELIMINATION,
AND MONITORING will be given in the plan.
• Source points and single-use plastic producers will be fined.
• June 5, 2024, will be fixed as a deadline for achieving Our goal.
• 2 Meendum Manjappai Vending Machines will be requested
from District administration.
• Our Key Stakeholders in realizing this initiative will be
STUDENTS.
• Intensive campaigns, Competitions, and Frequent rallies will
be conducted to inculcate behavioral change in people.
• Frequent Press releases and news on the actions against SUP
by district collector will make people understand the intensity
of the goal.
• The Goal of Plastic-free Tenkasi can be achieved well before the
deadline if cooperation and stringent action are Taken.
