Hot Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 large egg
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well
combined.
2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg lightly, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract if
using. Mix until well combined.
3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to
overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps in the batter.
4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil to
grease the surface.
5. Once the skillet is hot, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until
bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges start to look set, about 2-3 minutes.
6. Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side, until golden brown and
cooked through.
7. Transfer the cooked pancakes to a plate and keep warm while you cook the remaining batter.
8. Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or
chocolate chips.
