Guidelines and Mechanics of the Search for

Mr. & Ms. Diocese of Laoag Catholic Educational System 2024

1. Each DLCES school has the discretion to select 1 male and 1 female
representatives for the pageant.

2. Candidates must be a bonafide secondary students of the Diocese of Laoag

Catholic Educational System.

3. Participation in practice, pre-pageant and pictorial sessions is mandatory for all

candidates before the competition.

4. Candidates are advised to be on their light make up during the pictorial and pre
pageant.

5. These are the four categories/appearances of the candidates during the pageant
proper which include the following:

Appearances/Segment Attire/Theme
Production Number Candidates should wear their
school/team T-shirt paired with white
pants for boys and white shorts for
girls.
School Uniform Candidates must wear their complete
school uniforms. Props like books, bags
are allowed.
Sportswear Candidates must only display
sportswear that are used in sports
events played during intramurals,
DLCES meet and in Ilocos Norte
Athletic Associaton meet.
Casual Wear (Inabel Attire) Candidates are encouraged to
showcase a casual wear ensemble
infused with the distinctive charm of
Inabel fabric

6. These are the guidelines and mechanics for the pictorial and talent competition of
the candidates:

Appearances/segment Attire/guidelines
Pictorial Candidates should wear their official
Mr. & Ms. DLCES T-shirt paired with
denim pants.
Talent competition Candidates can perform individually or
by pair.
Candidates should perform their talent
with a minimum of 1 minute and a
maximum of 3 minutes.

Use of fire, animals, and other harmful

materials are strongly discouraged.

Criteria for judging for the Talent competition

Choreography 20 %
Mastery 15 %
Difficulty 15 %
Props and costume 15 %
 Performance 20 %
Overall impact 15 %
Total 100 %

7. The question and answer portion will be added in the casual wear competition.
There will 10 hashtags for the male and 10 hashtags for the female candidates. All
hashtags will be given during our first meeting/practice.

8. The criteria presented will be used in selecting the Top 5 major winners (5 males
and 5 females).

9. The panel of judges will score individually.

10. The decisions of the judges are final and irrevocable.
