Master’s Admission in Germany

Introduction
This document provides a detailed timeline and guide for students planning to apply for a
master’s program in Germany for the Winter Semester. It includes steps for
application, document preparation, fund transfer, and visa processes.

Timeline for Winter Semester Application

• Appointment for Application: Start by applying for an appointment at the
Karachi consulate. The current waiting time is approximately 3-4 weeks.
• Admission Period: Universities usually start admissions in March and April.
• Visit Uni-assist: Upload all educational documents, including LOM (Letter of
Motivation), and rename the LOM for each university to facilitate evaluation.
Duration for VPD Processing: Typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
• University Application: After receiving VPD, apply to chosen universities. This
can take 6 to 8 weeks to receive an offer letter. In some cases, a visa officer
may request an enrollment letter (if deadline is mentioned on admission
letter)
• Deposit in Blocked Account: Deposit the required amount once you have your
embassy appointment. Confirmation takes 5-10 days. Ensure you receive the
blocked account confirmation before your appointment.

Pre-Admission: No documents need attestation by Uni-assist at this stage.
post-admission:

• Bachelor’s: Intermediate and Matric documents attested by BISE. IBCC and

MOFA are not required.
• Master’s: Bachelor’s degree and transcripts need attestation by HEC. MOFA is
not required.
Note: Attested Original documents must be presented with copies during the visa
interview.

to EURO).
2. Foreign Currency Account: Open a FC account in euros and then transfer; requires
being a tax filer.
3. Currency Exchange: An alternative but expensive method.
