The grey colour we see in blender is environment light, we could change it in world properties.
We can convert any object into light as
o It only works in cycles. o We have to change object material from principle BSTF to emission. Point light have no size and therefore radius, it just a point emitting light. When light source become small the shadow become sharp. We use point light to create bulbs. Black body node in materials is used to change the temperature. Background node is used to change environment color. For this have to change object to world. Shadows from sunlight are sharp. Its sharpness increases when object is near the surfaces. We can change the shape of area light. In world properties we can click dot in front of color and select sky texture to create sky environment OR we could use sky texture node from textures group. Here we can move the ball to change the direction of sun. Before advancement we use a sphere and wrap 360 image of environment around it then scale it to make it bigger and take scene inside it. Now we use HDR images. HDRheven.com is a free website to download HDR environments. Environment texture node is used for this purpose.
