Ans: Communication is the one which connect people from different parts of the world.

2. What are the elements that are closely linked and influence each other towards globalization?

Ans: Economic Globalization, Political Globalization, and Cultural Globalization.

3. What are the advantages that globalization has brought to the world? What about the
disadvantages?

Ans: The advantages that globalization has brought to the world are, economic growth, transfer of
technology, better services, development of infrastructure, while the disadvantages are growing
inequality, increasing of the unemployment rate, trade imbalance.

1. What makes English a global language?

Ans: English is considered the global language because it is spoken and understood by most of the
population in almost every world region.

2. How is English treated in different countries?

Ans: English is treated in different countries in a way that it is mostly used by people in talking to one
another.

3. What is language adaptation?

Ans: Language adaptation examines the process by which a speech community is forced to adopt an
active role in making its language suitable for changing functional requirements.

4. How will you be able to understand the kind of language used in a particular country?

Ans: By downloading apps that could help me, by books or either by watching videos in the youtube
that teaches different kind of language.

5. What is the main lesson you learned from David Crystal's talk?

Ans: That once a country has been conquered and a foreign language imposed, that nation will look
for its own identity. In other words, the new language is adopted and adapted. That is how 'localisms'
and language variations are born.
