Seka Aleksić, born Svetlana Aleksić on April 23, 1981, is a Serb-Bosnian singer
known for her pop-folk and turbo-folk music. Let’s dive into her background and

Early Life:
Seka was born in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the time of the former
Yugoslavia.
Her parents were Ibrima (Bosniak) and Milorad Aleksić (Bosnian Serb).
Unfortunately, her parents divorced when she was seven years old, and she witnessed
scenes of domestic violence from her father during her childhood.
Due to the Bosnian War, Seka and her family fled to Serbia, eventually settling in
the village of Lipolist near Šabac.
Career Highlights:
Seka’s musical journey began early due to her family’s financial struggles. At 19,
she moved to Switzerland and started performing with a band.
In 2002, she gained prominence by winning the folk music festival Moravski biseri
with her song “Idealno tvoja.”
Her debut album, also titled “Idealno tvoja,” was released under Grand Production.
Subsequent albums like “Balkan” (2003) and “Dođi i uzmi me” (2005) produced
regional hits such as “Crno i zlatno,” “Sviđa mi se tvoja devojka,” and “Svi tvoji
milioni.”
Seka made her on-screen debut in the 2006 comedy film “We Are Not Angels 3: Rock &
Roll Strike Back.”
Her third album, “Kraljica,” released in November 2007, became the best-selling
album by a Serbian artist that year, featuring popular songs like “Aspirin” and
“Poslednji let.”
She held her first solo concert in the Belgrade Arena in 2010.
In 2010, she also appeared on her own reality competition show called “Moja desna
ruka,” where she searched for a new assistant.
Seka continued her success with albums like “Slučajni partneri” (2009) and “Lom”
(2012), touring across Europe and the United States1.
