ENROLMENT
All accepted prospective students must register from 22 January 2024 until 09 February 2024.
Failure to comply with the deadline will result in you being replaced with another applicant.
If you are not interested in enrolling at TUT, please send an e-mail to admission@tut.ac.za and
use Cancellation and your student number in the subject line.
STUDENT FINANCE
Please note: Paying the minimum registration fee does not guarantee that a space will be
reserved or implies that you are registered.
Students whose fees are paid by a sponsor, bursary, or employer will be required to pay
the minimum initial payment if no letters are received upon registration.
If your admission/registration to the qualification you have applied for has been cancelled, the
minimum initial payment, less R220 administration fee, will be refunded.
Payment methods:
Bank/ATM deposits and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments can be done into one of the
three TUT accounts, provided below:

PAYMENTS
Payment by employers or bursaries:
· Written proof of such sponsorship or a bursary letter should be emailed at least three
(3) days before the day of registration to finaidpta@tut.ac.za.
· A “Student Undertaking Form” must be accompanied by a written proof of sponsorship
or a bursary letter. The form is accessible on the following link: https://www.tut.ac.za/
bursaries-and-loans/downloads; please sign and email back to the same email address
above for a hassle-free registration process.
· Only original sponsorship or bursary letters shall be accepted. No photocopies or faxed
letters will be accepted.
E-PAYMENT
The system will guide you until the transaction has been concluded. Once the OTP has
been inserted and the transaction confirmed to be successful, there will be no reversal,
as the student's account will be credited automatically. In a situation where there was an
overpayment, the refund procedure will be followed. Please contact the Revenue Office
at stufinservices@tut.ac.za or Tel: 086 110 2421.
PIN
You must use the PIN number you received/created when applying for admission. If you have
forgotten your PIN, click on the Forgot button when you login to request your PIN number. Your
PIN number must be kept safe and may not be given to any person, staff included.
ONLINE REGISTRATION
You do not need to come to campus to register. You can access the online self-help registration
system off campus via electronic devices.
If you need any support, please email Pta-Engineering-Reg@tut.ac.za, the subject line must
be SUPPORT ONLINE and your REFERENCE NUMBER. Please give a clear message of the
error, you may include a photo of the error message.
Steps to follow:
1. Visit TUT's official website (www.tut.ac.za)
2. Top right corner, click SEARCH
3. Under quick links: Click ONLINE REGISTRATION
4. Log into the system, with the PIN number and reference number you received
when applying for admission.

5. Under Student Web: click on “Registration” then click on “Rules and
Regulations”. Read the “Rules and Regulations”, and then click on the “Accept
button”.
6. Click on “Submit Registration”, verify your employment status then click SAVE
AND CONTINUE.
7. Select all your modules for 2024 by clicking in the square block next to the
module. (Year modules, First AND Second semester).
8. Click “SAVE AND CONTINUE”.
9. Click on Continue, and then on “Accept Registration”.
10. Click complete registration.
11. The system will open the Proof of Registration automatically.
12. Please verify that your Proof of Registration is for the 2024 academic year and
that you have registered for the correct module(s).
REGISTRATION CHANGES
· Modules can be added by the students themselves on the online registration system
during the official registration period only.
· Modules can be cancelled by the students themselves on the online registration system
during the timeframe as published in Part 10 of the Students’ Rules and Regulations.
· After the closing date for registration, module additions and cancellations should be
done in person or in writing, or by completing the relevant form, or via electronic
communication to the email addresses provided per faculty.
· No requests for module/qualification cancellation, or module addition will be accepted
telephonically.

Username:
To access the LMS, you need an official TUT email address. You can access and manage your
TUT email and password at https://tut4life.tut.ac.za/. The TUT4Life email address consists of
your student number and TUT domain name, e.g. studentnumber@tut4life.ac.za.
Password:
Your password is your tut4life email password. Create a new password and/or reset it at https://
tut4life.tut.ac.za/password/
Additional information:
Microsoft 365 is available to all registered students. Download applications on your device
(smartphone and notebook), e.g. Word, Excel, Teams, OneNote, and OneDrive. Microsoft
Teams is required to collaborate in your online sessions. Installation instructions are available
at http://tutresource.tut.ac.za/ebook.pdf.
Cellphone data
Data to access the online content is available by registering your cellphone number and
updating your TUT Student Biographical Data Update at https://tut4life.tut.ac.za/. Only the
cellphone number registered here will receive data. Note that once data has been allocated
for the month, you cannot change the cellphone number. If you do, you will forfeit the data
allocated to the previous number.

· The Admissions and Registration Sections DO NOT HAVE third-party agents to assist
prospective students with their admission or registration processes.
· Be aware of individuals who offer to assist prospective students to be placed at a cost
– this is a criminal activity.
· DO NOT OFFER any person money; please use the official TUT bank accounts for
payments related to admission and registration costs. The banking details are available
on the TUT Website or provided under the heading Student Finance in the letter.
· Only staff from the Admissions and Registration Sections are allowed to assist
prospective students to either get space and/or register into the University.
· Check your status on the TUT website.

fraud@kpmg.co.za.
The University will communicate important information to you during the enrolment and
orientation process via email and/or SMS. Please ensure that you use your personal cell
number and email address. To update the information, click HERE. Login with your reference
number and pin, click on Address/Communication Info and then on Communication Detail.
Then follow the steps to update your communication information. Your pin number must be
kept safe and may not be given to any person.
Please state the above reference number in all future letters to the University.
