1. INTRODUCTION
ADNOC Onshore has awarded the EPC Work as defined under Project Scope below to
execute the New FST in Bu Hasa CDS, Access platforms and walkways at CDS and RDS-2,
Piping dead leg repair works at CDS and new STP which encompasses detailed engineering,
procurement, installation, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and provision of
assistance and supervision during start-up for the completed facilities identified under the
scope of the PROJECT. The project consists also of the replacement of the existing 8”
condensate lines from Flare K.O. drums to degassing boots that face integrity issues.

1.1. BU HASA FIELD OVERVIEW

Bu-Hasa field is located 200 km south west of Abu Dhabi. It is ADNOC ONSHORE’s most
western producing field. It was discovered in 1962 and was put on production in May 1965.
In Bu-Hasa currently there are three Remote Degassing Stations (RDS-1/2/3) and two
satellite stations BQ & HW. Production from oil wells completed in Shuaiba, Thamama B,
Thamama F, BQ & HW is routed through individual flow lines to three Gathering stations
(RDS-1, RDS-2, RDS-3), BQ and HW stations in various parts of the field. The combined
production from the wells at each these stations is routed to Central Degassing Stations
(CDS) via transfer lines ranging in sizes from 16” to 26”. In addition, some wells in the central
part of the field are connected directly to the CDS. The current sustainable oil production
from Bu-Hasa assets is 650,000 STBOPD (including satellite fields BQ and Huwaila).

1.2. BU HASA CDS – EXISTING FACILITY OVERVIEW

Central Degassing Station (CDS) process facilities are designed to degas, desalt and
remove H2S from crude oil prior to transfer to ADNOC ONSHORE’s storage facilities in
Jebel Dhanna and Fujairah. A number of locally producing wells are also directly connected
to the CDS. The CDS has five production trains. Trains numbered 1, 2 and 3 consist of two
stage three phase separators, three (3) common degassing boots for the five production
trains and three (3) common FSTs for the five trains. Trains 4 and 5 have similar equipment
in addition of a single stage electrostatic coalescer (desalter) located downstream of second
stage separator. A block flow diagram of the existing CDS process facilities is shown below.

2. PROJECT SCOPE
Scope of Work for the Project “EPC FOR NEW FLOW SUCTION TANK, ACCESS
PLATFORMS, DEAD LEG REPAIR WORKS, AND SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT IN
BUHASA” includes, but is not limited to the following minimum requirements for:
Site survey, Detailed engineering, procurement, Construction, installation, inspection &
testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning/ commissioning support and start up works to
implement the following scopes:
 Design and installation of new Flow Suction tank, Degassing boot along with
associated auxillaries and piping in CDS, Replacement of existing 8” condensate
lines from Flare K.O. drums to degassing boots that face integrity issues.
 Access Platforms and Walkways at CDS & RDS 2.
 Piping Dead Leg Repair Works at CDS
 New Sewage Treatment Plant
All of the above are in BU HASA area

2.1. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

There are four objectives for this project. A brief description of the Scope of work under each
project is explained below.

P12513: Design and install New Flow Suction Tank along with associated auxiliaries in Bu
Hasa CDS.

P12505: Many instruments are located at height. These instruments are on Separators,
Boot/FSTs etc. Presently, temporary platforms are used to get access for routine
maintenance. Therefore, permanent platforms are proposed for easy accessibility and
maintenance, besides dealing emergency situations more effectively.

P12506: Carry out Modification Works at Bu Hasa CDS to implement based on study carried
out during FEED to replace the existing Dead leg portion of the piping with CRA material for
the purposes of improving the operability and safety of the existing facilities.

P12541: Build a new package/pre-engineered extended aeration Sewage Treatment Plant

(STP) to treat drainage from COMPANY’s existing Accommodation Compound including
Restaurant & other facilities and from future development of industrial facilities like
Workshops, Laboratory etc. at Bu Hasa. After construction, testing and commissioning of
new STP, existing STP will be demolished which is also part of this scope of work.

P12566: Common Package consisting of all the common elements from the all the above
mentioned project objectives.

TRAJECTORY CHART (REACH SELF-EDUCTING

NOZZLE FLOW
DATA) FOR HF 350 & HF 500

The flow and effective reach data found on the following pages is compiled and updated by our engineering staff in the testing area of our assembly department.
The flow is determined by an electronic flowmeter while a piezometer gauge at the base/inlet of the nozzle establishes the “nozzle pressure.”
The effective reach is determined by elevating the nozzle to 32 degrees above horizontal and at a height of 4’ above ground level. The reach of Straight Stream,
Narrow Fog (30 degrees) and Wide Fog (90 degrees) are then established by measuring where the last water droplets are falling at ground level. These tests are
conducted in “still air” conditions, so the actual results will vary depending upon conditions.
