New procedure for Optical Gain

This technical bulletin describes the new procedure to adjust the optical gain on
Mythic 22 OT/CT.

Who is concerned:

All of the field service engineers, application specialist, customers.

Software version :

This procedure requires installing the version 2.2.1 on the instrument.

Additional material required:

G-Cal Solution

Description of the process:

This new procedure replaces the optical gain adjustment using WBC latex
particles.

To apply this procedure:

- Input the technician password.


- Go to Service, Technician, Optical Adjust.
- In the optical adjust menu, check that the channels for FSC and
ALL for G-Cal are correct (the values are indicated on the insert
provided with G-Cal). For the batch GC1208, the values are:

 FSC: 80
 ALL: 63

- Open the vial of G-CAL, press G-Cal to aspirate.


- At the end, the FSC and ALL gains will be automatically adjusted.
- While pressing TEST, you can display the G-Cal cloud.

- Press VALID to finish.

The G-Cal doesn’t require adjusting the gains manually using a fresh blood
sample.
The G-Cal is a neutrophile solution. PLEASE KEEP IT AT 2-8°c. Expiry date of
G-CAL is 4 months even opened.
Before to use G-Cal, let it at room temperature.

We deeply recommend to install the new version of the software on your entire
installed base, and to run the G-Cal solution, especially if you receive some
complaints about some parameters too high or too low.

NOTE: You don’t need to recalibrate the instrument at the end of this
procedure.
