C. Proposed Title:
Effectiveness of Study Habits and Learning Styles on the Academic Performance of the
Radiologic Technology Students of Cor Jesu College

D. Rationale:
This study seeks to explore the critical link between student’s study behaviors and
their educational outcomes. Recognizing that academic performance is a multifaceted
achievement, influenced by individual learning preferences and habits to uncover the
specific study habits and learning styles that correlate to improve academic performance.

E. Purpose of the Study (Qualitative):


This study will aim to determine the level of effectiveness of study habits and
learning styles on the academic performance of the Radiologic Technology students of
Cor Jesu College.

F. Research Questions (Qualitative):


This study further aims to answer the following questions:
1. What are the study habits of the Radiologic Technology students of Cor
Jesu College?

2. What are the learning styles preferences of the Radiologic Technology


students?
3. What is the level of effectiveness of the Radiologic Technology students
study habits and learning styles to their academic performance?

G. Variables of the Study (Quantitative)

H. Research Design:
This study will utilize an in-depth (face-to-face) with the participants. This will
allow us researchers to gain insights from the participants to understand their
experiences.

I. Respondents:
The participants must be bona fide students of Cor Jesu College and is under the
College of Health Sciences taking up Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology who
are in their first and second year of college.

J. Specific data outputs that the proponent plan to obtain


1. Study Habits Assessment:
Data on various study habits of participants, including time management techniques,
note-taking methods, reading and comprehension strategies, study environment
preferences (e.g., quiet, group study) and responses to questions about the frequency and
consistency of these habits.
2. Learning Styles Assessment:
Data on participants' learning styles using established assessment tools (e.g., VARK,
Kolb's Learning Styles Inventory) and identification of their predominant learning style
(e.g., visual, auditory, kinesthetic).

3. Academic Performance Data:


Grades or academic scores of participants, such as GPA or specific course grades.

K. Instrument to be used
This study will conduct a face-to-face survey to elicit a detailed response from the
participants to an open-ended question to view the respondent’s reaction so that the
researchers can articulate follow-up questions to draw out more detailed response. This
survey will utilize audio recording and transcribe into text to ensure all details are
captured.

L. Data Gathering Procedure


The date gathering procedures of this study is through in-depth (face-to-face)
interview using open-ended questions to elicit their perceptions while making sure that
their response will be highly confidential.
