We offer full qualifications such
as the National Certificate in
Rock Breaking, through to skills
programmes in blasting, competent
person, and Occupational Health
and Safety.
This form of mining differs from
extractive methods that require
tunnelling into the earth, such as
longwall mining. Open-pit, opencast,
or open-cut mining is a surface
mining technique of extracting rock
or minerals from the earth by their
removal from an open pit or borrow.

programmes, short courses in blasting
and health and safety, supervisory
skills, and machinery equipment

(private and public) and assessment
centres who must be accredited by
the QCTO to implement occupational
