Budgeting .

the process of calculating how much money you must earn or save during a particular
period of time, and of planning how you will spend it (Cambridge dictionary). In this study it is the
process of creating a plan to spend your money.
college students- is an individual who is enrolled in a university or college for a particular course
(teachmint).In this study it is the respondents and college students in BCAS.

Debt- is something, usually money, owed by one party to another (James,2023) . In this study it is a
money owed by one party to another.

Demographic profile- a description of a particular type of customer, including their sex, age, income,
etc. (Cambridge dictionary). In this study it includes sex, monthly allowance and program of the
respondents.
Effect- the result of a particular influence (Cambridge dictionary). In this study, this the result of financial
literacy wants to know about saving behavior
Financial literacy -understanding how to earn, spend, save, manage and invest money(Catanzaro,20190
. In this study, it refers to the knowledge and expertise of the students about financial matters such as
budgeting, purchasing and managing debt.
Managing debt -. is the process of planning your debt liabilities and repayments(Lisa,2023).In this study
it is financial literacy in managing its liabilities.
Monthly allowance- is money that is given to someone, usually on a regular basis, in order to help them
pay for the things that they need ( collins dictionary) . In this study, it is the total money given by parents
in a month.
Program - is defined as courses that are part of an accredited course of study leading to a college degree
(Law insider) In this study,it is the demographic profile of the respondents such as BSA,BSBA,BSED and
BSIT.
Purchasing – act of buying goods or service(Cambridge dictionary) In this study it is financial literacy in
the act of buying goods and services.
Recommendation- an official suggestion about the best thing to do(oxford dictionary) In this study, it
pertains to output.
Respondent - those individuals who complete a survey or interview for the researcher, or who provide
data to be analyzed for the research study (Kim Omachinski) In this study it is the college students who
answer the survey questionnaire.
Saving - process of setting aside a portion of current income for future use, or the flow of resources
accumulated in this way over a given period of time(“Britannica money”) In this study pertains to the
money set aside for future use and not spend immediately.
Saving behavior- the act or manner of an individual in reducing expenditures or deferring consumptions
( K.Tharanika et al,2017). In this study, it is defined as student levels of personal financial discipline that
may have an impact on their money management.

Sex- the state of being either male or female ( Cambridge dictionary). In this, study it is the demographic
profile of the respondents.

Significant difference - a statistically significant result is unlikely to have occurred by chance implies
causality of the treatment being tested(“Newsletter”). In this study, it is assessing a relationship of the
variables.
Students- a person who is studying at a college, university, or school (Cambridge dictionary) In this
study, it is the respondents.
