Summary

Note: A summary is high-level by nature. What you choose to include in the business summary will be tailored based
on the objectives of the summary. For example, suppose PwC is working on a diligence where the target is an auto
parts manufacturer known to use legacy tech infrastructure. In this case, the key categories to include will likely differ
from an e-commerce target selected for their global customer presence. The following are some example categories
that you may want to include. Feel free to use and modify this template or create your own.

Financial summary Note: Consider which categories are most helpful. Companies may also give different
names to the most important categories (e.g., in the UK, many companies use “Turnover” instead of “Revenue.” You
may choose to show EBIT instead of EBITDA, Revenue growth instead of Cost information, etc. Consider what is the
most important for the given company.

Remember to complete this summary for a publicly-traded company. This information is reported quarterly and housed
on a company website’s Investor Relations section. Quarterly or Annual reports also contain this information. If you
have trouble finding it, search on Google.

Other Note: Consider sharing other relevant categories of information with the Leadership team. Again, this
doesn’t have to be comprehensive (you could write books about any company) but should cover the most
important topics to orient the team to the client.

For example, for a retail company, it might be good to know how many days of inventory a company holds. For a
technology company, it might be useful to know the number of monthly/daily active users per product and how much
this has grown in the last year.
