R2D2 Assembly

Contents:
A simplified assembly guide for Perero’s R2D2_Final, the assembly should not be any
Problem if you follow this simple guide.
Importent not is that this is just a guide and not a complete assembly instruction, and
Therefore left some mounting issues that i believe is obvious and therefore not included.
Screws are one example what i left out, and the reason is simply use what you have access
to..there is guided holes everywhere for screws to show you where to put them.
But enough with pointers and start assembly....
Step 1 (body assembly)
Put the two bodys together with the ’legattachement’ in place between the 2 halfs, it
should be a tight fit. Screw them together with 4 small screws.
Step 2 (body accessories)
Now it’s time to glue all small accessories to the body, the vents and all small pieces.
Step 3 (wheels)
Take the wheelhousing and screw the ’batterybox’ in place.

Step 4 (wheel assembly)

Put the big wheel and the gear together and use a 5mm pin to center the gear and wheel
together...and glue the wheel and gear together.
Mount the motor with m2 screws and nut or similar. And use the 5mm (4.75mm) pins as
guides and mount the wheels in place on the ’wheelholder’.
And glue in all the 3mm nuts in the wheelholders.
Mount the two 30mm orings around the bigger wheel and the two 20mm oring around the
smaller wheel.
Finaly mount the wheel holders together and mount them with the wheelhousing using
short m3 screws from the top(m3 nuts and screws or similar)
It is importent that you mount everything in this order, otherwise you should not be able
to put this together.
(the pins (wheel axels) is long enough and keept in position by the wheelhousing, you can
use screws instead if you have the right width and shorten them so they fit in the housing.
Step 5 (motor for the dome)
Mount the motor on the ’motorholder’ and put the yellow parts in place in the
motorholder.
Mount the gear and gearholder together with small screws or glue..
And finaly glue all the green pieces together with the yellow pieces..and now you should
have a complete part to rotate the dome.

And as you can see in the pictures above all parts are prepared with small holes/guides for
the screws.

Step 6 wiring
The wiring is quite straight forward, there are tunnels in the leg for the wires and and
opening in the hatch for the legs and and opening in the wheelhouse, big enough to fit all
the wiring from the motors to the mainbody.
Step 7 finnishing details
To mount the utility arms and hatches on the body i have included some ’spring loaded’
pins that you use as hinges, just put them in place and compress them and snap them in
place. Not the greatest solution but simplest solution i could think of.
