Connection Between My Artistic Intention Final Product

My artistic intention was to convey the deep significance of motherhood and
the need to treasure and strengthen this relationship, which has a big impact
on our lives. I wanted to draw attention to the value of mother-child
relationships through my artwork and encourage reflection on the behaviors
that either strengthen or weaken this bond. My ultimate objective was to
promote empathy, inspire people to value the preservation of the
mother-daughter bond, and encourage understanding.

I set out on an artistic journey to capture the ongoing link between my

mother and myself for my final artwork. I tried to show the richness and depth
of our connection through a thoughtfully chosen assortment of pictures and
symbolic representations. I wanted to draw attention to the deep bond that
exists between a mother and her eldest daughter in order to stir up feelings
and encourage reflection on the value of maternal affection and guidance.
Every component of the artwork was carefully selected to capture the
character of our relationship, from happy and humorous times to comforting
and reassuring ones. My ultimate objective was to acknowledge the enduring
significance of mother love and its critical role in forming identity and mental
health, encouraging viewers to treasure and develop their own connections to
their families.

Thorough Analysis
Of My Final Outcome
Tone & Texture
My attention was caught by the dramatic contrast between
the passport-sized pictures' vivid hues and the grayscale
center image. A clear background for the fine details of the
images and the paper roses was created by the canvases
smooth texture. Making a physical and visual experience
that would appeal to viewers on several levels seemed
essential.
Pictorial Space
The artwork was given depth and character by layering its
components, which included the acrylic sheets,
passport-sized images, and the core black-and-white image.
It gave the artwork a feeling of depth that enticed viewers to
fully immerse themselves in the story and emotional journey
it portrays.
Pattern
The passport-sized pictures and the acrylic sheets both
repeated the grid pattern, which gave the composition a
feeling of rhythm and continuity that reflected the
interconnectivity concept. Creating a visual connection
among the elements of the artwork was crucial in order to
draw in the audience to go deeper into the layers of
significance that are concealed inside each piece. I used each
of these different layers to create a pattern, each pattern
interconnected to the other.
Colour
Every color filter that was used on the passport-sized
pictures symbolized an individual stage of my mother and
I's relationship. Inspired by her favorite color, purple, the
paper flowers acted as a symbolic recollection of our
relationship. In order to convey the richness and depth of
our relationship, I wanted the colors to arouse a variety of
feelings and recollections.
Line
The artwork's borders were clearly defined, and a feeling
of structure and order was established by the straight lines
of the grid pattern and the wooden platform. In order to
make sure that every component had a place and a function
within the larger layout, I wanted to lead the viewer's
attention through the composition.
Composition
It seemed reasonable to arrange the passport-sized pictures
in a grid pattern around the black-and-white image in the
center to establish the main focus of the piece. It gave me
the opportunity to draw the viewer's attention to the focal
point of the work while also enhancing the composition's
depth and dimension with an eye-catching border. Other
than the focal layers, I also added acrylic layers to add
more dimension and depth to the artwork.
Scale
The 23 by 17-inch canvas size felt like the ideal balance
between creating a statement and maintaining intimacy. I
intended for the artwork's dimensions to not overwhelm
spectators, giving them ample room to examine all of its
details. I was able to make a work of art that could attract
attention and also encourage viewers to look closely and
interact with the tiny details because to this scale.
Form
A sculpture-like aspect was added to the artwork by the
wooden platform with four slits, which served as a solid
foundation for exhibiting the acrylic sheets. I made sure
that every acrylic sheet would be prominently shown by
carefully considering the platform's measurements, which
helped to create a feeling of harmony and balance
throughout the composition. This way I could create a 3D
artwork that was able to communicate my idea in an
intricate and harmonious way, each

combining modern alterations with vintage-inspired filters, my artwork represents

nature of the mother-daughter bond, which goes beyond logical limitations, by
acting as a visual metaphor for the connections between past and present times.

Self Evaluation - Strengths & Weaknesses
Strength: Thinking back on the artwork of my mother, I think that its emotional
impact is one of its strongest points. The warmth and nostalgia are brought to mind by the
mini-pictures' use of bright colors and several kinds of filters, which highlight different
elements of my mother's personality and the phases of relationship. Paper roses are
another addition that provides a physical touch, increasing the overall visual impact and
emphasizing the central message of maternal love.
Strength: A certain amount of creative complexity is added to the composition as an
outcome of the silk screen painting method being incorporated into one of the acrylic
sheets. This method gives viewers a striking contrast to other parts while also enhancing
the artwork's visual diversity and paying respect to well-known painters like Andy
Warhol.
Strength: Using paper flowers, especially in my mother's favorite color of purple, is
a touching and realistic way to symbolize motherhood. In addition to adding to the
artwork's overall aesthetic appeal, these carefully created roses also give it a deeper
impact on the viewer, highlighting the main subject of maternal attachment and
connection.
Strength: The complexity of the artwork's narrative is enhanced by the variety of
aspects that are shown on the acrylic sheets, ranging from artistic references to personal
experiences. Every acrylic sheet presents a fresh angle on our relationship and invites the
audience to go into many different areas of emotional connection and maternal impact.
I'm happy with how my artwork turned out, especially considering how familiar I am with the selected materials. A major success
for me is being able to portray the impact of motherly love while also being aesthetically pleasing.
Weakness: I found that the paper roses were poorly assembled due to
the use of messy and uneven glue. I improved the results by switching to
pink and red paper, but the process required more trial and error. The
artwork effectively captures maternal relationships, but some elements were
executed poorly.
Weakness: When I look at how the artwork is put together, I see that
there may be a chance that there are too many different parts on the acrylic
sheets, which could overwhelm or crowd the viewer. It will need
considerable thought and deliberate planning to achieve a harmonic
balance between the many elements while retaining clarity and emphasis
on the most important topics.
Weakness: Although using digital tools such as Canva made it easier
to add color filters onto my mother's photo, I realize that there are limits to
how much you can entirely customize and control the final product. In the
future, I could look into different approaches or strategies for representing
each phase of our relationship with more accuracy and consistency.
Weakness: I tried to make sure that every sheet has its own place
without overlapping, so the content of the acrylic sheets might have been
less chaotic and highly crowded. This careful preparation, though, may have
accidentally resulted in a minimalist look, with certain portions lacking the
necessary intricacy and depth.

Errors & Trials (Challenges & Solutions)
Challenge 1: Printing the tiny photos of my mother was difficult when making
the artwork because, even after several tries, the images weren't coming out clearly. To
improve their clarity, the picture—which was taken from an old Facebook post—had to
be changed from PDF to JPG format.
Challenge 2: It was difficult to put the paper roses into the artwork because they
needed to be carefully folded and shaped in order to have the desired outcome.
Precision and careful attention to detail were necessary to guarantee that every rose
looked genuine and combined smoothly with the arrangement.
Challenge 3: I ran into a problem when I didn't wait for the ink to properly set
during the silk screen painting process. This caused a portion of the rose design to get
smeared, which had a big impact on the look of the acrylic sheet.

Challenge 4: The challenge of integrating numerous acrylic sheets into
a visually harmonious picture was to arrange elements such as silk screen
painting and subtle smoke patterns in a way that didn't make the picture too
crowded, given the limited surface area of the sheets.
Solution 1: I experimented with different printing options and image
converting applications to fix the problem. I made multiple attempts before I
was able to successfully convert the PDF files to JPEG format, which allowed
the small pictures to print out more clearly.
Solution 2: In order to get past this challenge, I studied the folding
techniques until I was an expert by consulting online tutorials. Through
practice and experimenting using different folding techniques, I was able to
produce paper roses that increased the artwork's visual impact.
Solution 3: I tried using soap and water first, then an alcohol swab, to
try to fix the smearing, but they didn't work. I did some research and found
that the smeared ink could be easily removed using nail polish remover. By
putting this concept into practice, the problem was solved and the acrylic
sheet was given back its original appearance.
Solution 4: I meticulously arranged acrylic sheets, experimenting with
different combinations, to achieve a harmonious balance by positioning
subjects and adjusting their sizes and proportions.

That being said, I believe that in order
to make the black and white image in
the center of the artwork even more
significant, it should have been given
more attention. Furthermore, even
though the way the components are
arranged is visually pleasing, there
could have been more variation in the
mini pictures' sizes and orientations to
produce a composition that is more
lively and grabbing.
All things considered, in my opinion,
my artwork has a lot of potential and
does a great job of expressing the
profound importance of relationships
between mothers and their kids.
