SAP Note

167722 - Transfer posting material to material is single-level proces

Component: CO-PC-ACT (Controlling > Product Cost Controlling > Actual Costing), Version: 7, Released On:
14.05.2002

Symptom
During multi-level actual costing, transfer postings from material to material are mapped as
single-level processes (movement type 309, 311), specifically:
VUBM Material transfer posting (usage)
BUBM Material transfer posting (procurement)
As a result, price variances from the consumable material are not rolled to the procured
material during the multi-level costing.
The customer wants these price variances to be rolled up in the course of the multi-level
costing also during these processes.

Other Terms
CKMM_RUN, VUBM, BUBM, ACTUPD

Solution
The solution represented here is a modification, to redirect the following process
categories:
VUBM Material transfer posting (usage)
BUBM Material transfer posting (procurement)
to the process categories:
VU Stock transfer (usage)
BU Stock transfer (procurement).
The process categorise VU/BU are multi-level so that now price differences are also rolled
up during material transfer postings in the course of the multi-level costings.

Disadvantage:
Since the process category VU/BU is supported in the standard SAP System for plant to plant
transfer, you can no longer immediately tell from the material ledger master data display
(Transaction CKM3) whether the consumption and/or the procurement for process category VU/BU
were carried out by plant to plant transfers or by material stock transfers. In order to do
this, you must first go to the actual BOM or to the material ledger document.

Procedure:
For modification proceed as follows:
1. check your material update structure first:
==> R/3 Customizing
==> Controlling ==> Product Cost Controlling
==> Actual Costing/Material Ledger ==> Material Update
==> Define Material Update Structure
==> Maintain material update structure (detail)
Your material update structure must meet the following preconditions: it may
either only consist of the lines:
PCAT MTG CAT
B+ ZU
V+ VN

or for process categories VUBM and BUBM, only one entry may exist in each
case, namely:

PCAT MTG CAT

.... <== Entries for other process categories
BUBM ZU
VUBM VN
.... <== Entries for other process categories

2. Implement the modification found in the attached correction instructions. Please note
that the changes for Releases 4.5A, 4.5B and 4.6A are not contained in the standard SAP
system, but only as of Release 4.6B. Therefore, this second modification step no longer
applies as of Release 4.6B.

3. Finally, you must modify the system table CKMLMV009:

a) Start Transaction SM30
b) Enter the name "V_CKMLMV01" in the field "Table/view"
c) Choose "Maintain".
d) The entries appear for the system table CKMLMV009.
e) You find a line for process category BUBM and a line for process category VUBM.
f) Mark both of these entries under the column "M" with a check. Make sure that you
have marked the correct field. The F1 documentation to this field must show that it
is a multi-level process.
g) In field PTYP_PAR, enter the partner process type. Process type BUBM has VUBM as
partner process type; process type VUBM has BUBM as partner process type.
h) Save the changes afterwards.
