Print Material is distributed horizontally by a mesh,
the vanes elevate a portion of the powder
and homogeneously the recoating unit
distributes it to form
the layer

Material is transported
to the material feeding system through
two identical distribution subsystems
at the front and back of the HP Jet
Fusion 3D Build Unit, which pre-heat
the material

The platform provides a surface to create

material layers and move built layers down to
create new ones on top

The top heating lamps control the
temperature of the print bed to ensure
material uniform temperature through a
closed loop system. Top cover heating
and cooling
The temperature camera reads the
temperature of the white material (no fusing
agent on top) at each zone using 992 points
per layer.
Lamp voltages are adjusted so that the
material temperature arrives to the target in
each zone.

After a layer has been formed by the
recoating unit, the carriage, which Scan axis, carriage
contains two fusing modules and the and fusing
agents, moves through the scan axis.
The carriage contains the printheads that
distribute the agents in the print bed.
The fusing modules provide the delta
temperature required to fuse the material
through IR energy.

The fusing and detailing agents flow from Scan axis, carriage
the cartridges to the printing nozzles. Service Station and fusing
There are two intermediate cartridges to
allow for continuous agent supply (hot
swap).
The printheads are serviced in the

Cooling and Unpacking
Laminar
flow
Fast cooling enables faster part
turnaround and does not affect the Storage
mechanical properties of the parts. For tank
parts that require EaB and impact, fast
cooling can even improve the properties
of the material.
For some parts, especially thin parts that External
can warp, natural cooling is material
recommended. tank
Unpacking is done by vaccuming the
remaining powder, which goes into the
storage tank to be able to be reused in
following builds.

Plastics

Polyamide is a semi-crystalline material

The formation of crystals will cause the

material to shrink as it cools

The amount of crystallization and shrink is

influenced by the thermal history of the
material, both during and after fusing.
