Conference venue: College of Informatics and Virtual Education, the University of Dodoma
Introduction: The Political Ecology Network (POLLEN) conference will take at the University of
Dodoma, Tanzania, hosted by the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies to
critically engage with contemporary issues in political ecology focusing on how to think and
plan for plural and just futures amidst the unfolding and entwined biodiversity, socio-
ecological and climate crises. These crises make the challenge of moving towards more plural
and just futures more pressing than ever. By convening the POLLEN24 conference in
Dodoma, Tanzania we promote inclusive and participatory exchanges on the role of political
ecology in nurturing plural and just socio-ecological futures, for speakers, researchers and
activists from across Africa and Asia. The conference will provide a platform to debate and
learn about political ecology contributions to seeking plural and just solutions for the crises.
